Wii U for now is known to be based on 4000series GPUs, which is already 2 gens old. by the time Wii U releases that will be 3 gens old. Hence PC would still be leagues ahead.
Why anyone pays 10-20usd more per game sounds even more stupid.
1366 is a dieing platform and its based on old tech i wouldnt recommend it.
Go for Sandybridge which is 1155 and is much faster then 1366, its also based on 32nm tech which is superior to the 45nm 1366 is based on.
dont go for the 5770 its old now, go for 6950, which will cost you 260usd and will come with a free game.
Lol adding up all console platforms against 1 pc doesnt sound fair.
BTW you can cross out the nintendo games on that list, those run better on PC via dolphin in 1080p. Resident evil is present on PC. In fact due to emulation PC has the biggest library of Resident evil out there starting all the way from RE1 to present time.
God of war 1,2 run in 1080p on PC via emulation ;-) so you can get a taste of that franchise on PC.

Its great for FPS too, games like TF2, L4D2 own. In fact PC also has the best RPG experience too. Aside the japanese rpgs which have gone crap this gen.

Dude AMD is now using at least 2 gen old tech, i would strongly advice against going for a AMD system.
First i would say go for sandybridge the mother board will cost you the same.
Change the CPU to a 2500k which will cost you 220 usd, which is only 30 usd more then your current cpu, but it will be much much faster and can be overclocked to 4.5ghz easily.
Next downgrade your GPU to a 6950 (which really is a 6970 b...

While i agree people shouldnt cheap out when it comes to building a PC, specially when you get something much better for 100-200usd more (after which you quickly hit a point of deminishing returns, unless you want to be playingon multiple screens).
However this is the beauty of the PC platform, you can get a rig like this one which will still put console gaming to shame and do all the stuff that a PC does do or you can go mid range get something around ...
1998 - 2004 was a different time. games were progressing very quickly in terms of graphics. Which is why more powerful hardware was needed.
Today the situation is different even a 4 year old 8800gtx still plays most games maxed out, that alone puts the upgrading myth to rest.
Games on PC are much cheaper then console versions, which makes PC overall the cheapest platfomr to game on.

For a 1000usd you could have a PC back then equiiped with a 8800GTX. Which is easily 2x as powerful as the entire PS3. 8800GTX also launched before the PS3. So PS3 was outdated before it launched.
8800GTX also plays 95% of current games in 1080p. PS3 barely plays 5% of its games in 1080p. I would call that murdering.

You could easily build a rig for 800-1000usd back when PS3 launched that would murder the PS3. Just equip the rig with a 8800gtx, you dont need to install Vista, XP would have donejust fine :)
While both systems have now gone done in price, the 600usd ps3 is now 300usd it still performs the same, however it has lost all BC.
Meanwhile a 500usd PC today would blow the crap out of a 800usd PC of 4 years back. So not only has PC gotten cheaper its also gotten fas...

Lol naa they arent... /points at Steam and D2D deals. I must have bought 5-6 games AAA this holiday sales alone all for under 100usd. Those should last me few months. Mean while i will be buying more games as they come up on discounts.

You could get a PC today for 500usd and make it run games in 1080p and it will surely do a lot more then just play games. While every game will cost alot cheaper on the same 500usd PC with free online (and the best at that).
Imo console makers will need to keep the next consoles maximum at 400usd @ launch even that will be dangerously close to PC territory.

HD version was originally released on PC. Later multiple mods have been released to make the game look even better. It gets better you can buy the HD version of Steam for a couple of USD ;-)
Later you dont even have to worry if it will be compatible with the next box in the future. Since PC compatibility stays for a very long long time.

Consoles themselves are a DRM. Cant play PS2 games on PS3. might not be able to play PS3 on PS4. Hence the hardware becomes a DRM.
