Its an attempt to make money of a popular franchise. Except they dont want to be putting in the effort to make a complex game the original fans will enjoy.

Instead they will make it into a dumbed down casual friendly shooter (since shooter is what everyone wants these days).

People will get tired of this sooner or later, i think the market is stuffed with FPS games.

Its more money then most people will make in a couple of life times rofl.

Well i have personally emulated God of war, which ran great. I think MGS is compatible too, about 95% games released on PS2 are compatible and can run in 1080p.

Granted its not as good as the HD remakes the PS3 gets, however one has to question how many remakes the PS3 will be getting and will those same remakes work on the PS4. The PC emulation is like a permanent copy :)

You can use PCSX2 to emulate ps2 games.

edit: just checked the c...

played the game with a wired 360 controller. My brother played it with a DS3 controller though wirelessly :P

PC is like a super PS3, 360 hybrid except running in full HD 60fps and even beyond lol.

Well i cant recall the last time i had a problem with a PC game. However just based on my experience i cant say no one else hasnt had a problem.

The same should be relevant for you too. Just because you havent had a problem doesnt mean others havent too. There are plenty examples on n4g itself where people have complained about UC2 not working after certain firmware upgrade, or da2 crashing on the PS3.

Metal gear HD collection, along with almost the entire PS2 catalog is available on the PC via emulation lol.

Personally played God of war 1 and 2 on PC in HD with a DS3 all running in 1080p 60fps.

PC has the largest selection of games of any platform.

Most Xbox exclusives are already on the PC. The ones that arent generally PC gamers dont care about those games.

why would any PC gamer really care about:

Halo: when FPS are a dime a dozen.
Fable: we already got much better RGPs, beside Fable isnt what it used to be.
Gears of war: Gears 1 already came to PC, PC gamers didnt like it, again like FPS games 3rd person shooters are a dime a dozen. Nothing to be excited about.
Forza: ...

True lol i actually find a PC more convienient to use then a console. With console i need to keep my discs handy all the time. Then becareful about not getting the scratched and making sure to put them back in their boxes once i am done.

With Steam installed on my PC, i just need to point click and play. No more getting up to grab disks, everything is infront of me.

Consoles now a days arent the same as they used to be. Every time a firmware update hits some games start freezing not working.

When that happens a console gamer is at the mercy of the console maker to give an update. With PC you can atleast take matters into your hands and try get work arounds.

Lol Steam craps all over any network out there.

Its free
has cross game chat
Has text chat
Has cross game voice chat
Can bring up a real web browser just by (ctrl+tab)
Dedicated servers are a given
the list goes on.

Take a look at the size of those fans on those 6870's mate. those are huge fans, then take a look at the size of the cards themselves. The chip wont be getting that much space in a console environment.

Niether will it be getting super large fans that we have on our PC casings to exhaust all that heat.

I personally have GTX 580 sli. when run on furmark both of them manage to hit 95C thats with fans running at max speed(sounds like a jet is going to take o...

For a PC gamer you sure have no clue what you talk about most of the time.

AMD APUs can barely compete with low end discrete GPUs of today. check out the benchmarks with Liano running Crysis 2.

Its barely managing 40fps @ 600p with no AA

Its performance currently is probably on par with current gen cons...

Currently GPU makers are using 40nm Processes on the latest parts. The next die shrink may take us down to between 28-22nm. Typically a die shrink like that would mean 10c cooler on simular MHZ.

However current GPUs with large PC like casings and execellent airflow (not possible on any current console design) still touch 85-90c under full load.

Even if you were to cut down that figure by 10c that reduction would easily be outdone by the small casings consoles...

Already use motionjoy, its a great utility.

I was playing dirt 2 on my PC. Eyefinity (3 screens) along with the DS3 controller. When some of my brothers friends walked in.

They are like "where is the PS3, and how is the game running on 3 screens?"

i just loled.

Lol true. You can expect employees from both parties to spout all sort of crap as lip service. Then watch the fans on this site dish it out.

If an AMD GPU really is used within the next Playstation, BC might be a huge issue. Either way i dont think next gen consoles will be a big jump over what is already out there.

Reasons for this are:

Heating issues: the more powerful GPUs get the more heat they produce, in the restrictive casings consoles have it would be very difficult to dissapate all that heat. People may dream of consoles having GPUs that perform close to levels of GTX 580 from the PC ...

@powerofcell

"Most of us PS3 gamers dont go online, instead we like to play unique singleplayer experiences.

For socialising we instead prefer to log on to websites like n4g, we really dont play games online which explains our over whelming numbers on this site."

Hahaha, i think cell had a hidden message here. What he ment is PS3 gamers dont socialise on PSN because it lacks crossgame chat. Which is why most of them log onto ...

@sub4dis

Fell for it with DX11 mate, not gonna upgrade for DX 12. Most games out are Dx 9 console ports. As of now no one needs a high end gpu like GTX 580 unless they want to be playing on multiple screens.

Its become more of a marketing campaign for MS and the GPU makers to sell more hardware and software. DX11 just came out, they should show us the goods for it first.

Lol remember when they markted windows 7 for having DX 11. While Vista had DX 11 too.

If this really does make it across to windows 8 by way of emulation or whatever it will be there on windows 7 too.

I wont be upgrading from windows 7 for a long time thats for sure, there simply is no reason to.
