You're comparing apples to oranges and ignorantly so. Praising a game for not being technologically gimped has absolutely nothing to do with the game being delayed while all the other versions are not. Furthermore, consumer interest and feedback rested most on the Wii U version, so Wii U owners have every right to be frustrated.
Didn't Namco start publishing this game late in development? It's possible it has more to do with Namco than Slightly Mad.
To be fair, we've seen nothing that suggests a technological gimp. The delay is disappointing nonetheless though.
I hope people come to realize that the voice acting fund is essentially another stretch goal. Everything in the original Kickstarter campaign is still going to be in the game as far as we know.
If Wii U owners pushed hardest for this game, it stands to logic and reason that the game should be prioritized for Wii U. There's a level of principle to consider here. Not to mention the game is probably not delayed for PS4 or XB1.
Watch Dogs, a game available on five different platforms only outsold Wii U's most important exclusive by a few thousand. And Wii U's decline from last week to this week is hardly even significant. Once again, all current generation systems are outselling their previous generation counterparts. Also seeing a 55% increase on Vita is awesome. :)
edit: Just double checked and it's just the PS4 version of Watch Dogs. My bad. WD did just come out in Japan and I heard i...
Sheesh, the Wii U version scored highest on their poll? This seems like a ludicrous decision then. Very disappointing.
Honestly, if you have a platform on which a game performs best on, I wouldn't blame you for picking that version of the game. Right now the Wii U version is my only option, but that's going to change once I get my PS4. I'd like to get this on Wii U, but if it looks better on PS4 and comes out sooner, I may as well just get it on there.
That's pretty lousy. If there's anything I find annoying, it's repetition and I hate how the same negative articles tend to get posted over and over as separate news. They really should fix that.
I'm no fan of Ubisoft lately either, but it doesn't mean other people are not. Ubisoft has a lot of bad habits, but people like their games. Nintendo also isn't in a position to burn any bridges to third parties, sorry as I am to say. Ubisoft had a lot to do with their games not selling on Wii U, especially Rayman Legends, but Nintendo has to share some responsibility due to the low sales of the Wii U.
I'm not sure I see how small scale digital downloads of old games are all that much of a financial risk. Sega has put out quite a few new exclusives for Wii U, including two Sonic games. Why not Virtual Console games?
Not bad at all. Of course the other versions will look prettier, but it looks like this is one of those third party Wii U games that won't necessarily be gimped and will actually make the best of the hardware. These devs deserve a basket of cookies.
Wii U had self publishing right off the bat though. If I'm not wrong, Xbox One did not have that in place at launch and only recently changed the policy.
Including another free game with Smash wouldn't hurt either. Anything to help a Smash bundle sell, y'know? ;P
Games that make you rethink strategies are often the ones with more replayability and staying power. Hopefully this game is like those. :)
Surprising. Wii U is a pretty indie friendly console from what I've seen. Maybe somewhere down the line?
lol I didn't think anyone was being boycotted. People will probably avoid the poor ports the Wii U has received though.
Exactly. I can see why Xbox fans are frustrated, but they are still getting the full game, even if it doesn't have this particular content.
How is preorder DLC the same as lying about a bad game that was marketed with lies? I think this author is drawing comparisons that he/she made up.
The final stretch goal in the original Kickstarter was $4 million. They made less than that off the Kickstarter. If they are going to add more stuff they need more funding. That's how game development works.
