I'm curious about that as well. What features are missing on Wii U that were not in GCN and N64?
Actually most of these scored pretty well on MetaCritic. I wouldn't buy all of these games, but I still want Donkey Kong and Wonderful 101. The getting next list is also pretty good IMO. Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta, all that stuff is what convinced me to get the Wii U in the first place.
At the end of the day, he's right. Wii U should have launched with MK8 and a solid game that will take supposedly advantage of the gamepad like Splatoon or Star Fox. It probably would be a lot better off now if so. But this is the bed Nintendo made and now they have to make the best of it, which I think they are. There are plenty of games to play on the thing with more coming out by year's end and some cooler stuff next year. It started out bad but IMO it's gotten a lot better.
Just be honest with your backers and make sure you have something to show for your project. Otherwise it will generate the same kind of controversy this campaign received.
The way I look at it is that Nintendo had a shot to focus on third parties and they really dilly-dallied over it. Since third parties aren't showing much initiative, they are more focused on first party software and indies. Wii U is kind of a Nintendo fan system, so you won't be able to get a lot out of it without an appreciation for those games. Either way, wonderfulmonkeyman is making a good point that third parties aren't biting or are biting poorly at the Wii U's heels and...
Thing is I don't make a whole lot of money to begin with. Well that's only half true, I do make a decent amount but most of it goes toward my bills. I'm only able to save a little bit here and there, and I was still able to afford my Wii U and I'm trying really hard to save up for a PS4. If I can do it, I'm sure other people can. And the Wii U is pretty cheap now, so I don't feel like price is an issue. Just save up one at a time. those consoles aren't going anywhe...
My Wii U won't really need those games since I'm getting a PS4. Best of both worlds as they say. :P
Indie games do. Some indie games have really small budgets and can sometimes be just as good as the AAA stuff. If they can do it, why can't AAAs?
Why shouldn't people complain? I would absolutely love it if all games were roughly the same price as DVDs and still profitable for the industry. It'd be a lot easier to buy them all!
Oddworld is awesome! Can't wait. :D
ABizzel1 just read my mind. :') +1 for Bushido Blade as well. Loved the originals.
What characters besides Diddy Kong and Bowser Jr. are missing from MK8? I don't see who else you could put in the game. Double Dash also has ten fewer characters and no Kart customization to compliment the character stats.
Actually they publish good games. Their developers like DICE and Bioware make good games. Aside from EA Sports and the studios they own, I don't think EA has any in-house developers.
Thanks a lot for the insight! This all applies to both versions, right?
Wonderful to read! But what about the non-playable characters? ;P I'm sure once it comes out it will be fine. There is more time and manpower on their side this time.
Yes, most certainly on PS4. Me want! :D
Oh please be so. I really want a followup to GoW3.
I mostly see VR being the most effective in first person games, so Killzone and Hover would be my first choices.
If they put them all as a collection for $40 like the remaster collections from last generation, I actually wouldn't mind picking it up again. The value is much better when there are multiple games to consider. :)
@ichizon Actually Miyamoto did talk a bit about Wii U's low performance. I did a google search and this came up. http://mynintendonews.com/2...
Reggie is kind of overly corporate. I think his job is basically to paint Nintendo in a positive light no matter what the situation is. But you are right, more work needs to be done to ...
