Even with my own job I struggle to afford all the different consoles I want to play. I have no plans to get an Xbox One, but I most certainly don't bash it like a blind fanboy just because. I am more than capable than seeing that Xbox One has its own cool stuff to offer and I respect it and its fans for giving my favorite the competition they require to continue being an exciting game creator.
Yoshida is such a great guy. Fantastic for the industry. I wish most of the fans shared his open mindedness and humility when it came to the competition. :)
@wonderful
I totally agree. The problem is people are going to crap all over the game if they announce a lower than expected resolution/framerate.
I think I agree. My TV only goes up to 720p anyway. I know some people really want that full HD resolution, but I think fidelity and frame rate are more important.
Seems pretty early to be attacking any consoles right now when no a single console has a confirmed resolution or frame rate. There's a chance that a lot of people can wind up with egg on their face if the specs are nearly identical.
No kidding. How can they know specifications like that by now? I smell a day one update or patch coming along.
Yup! That's the idea lol. I will probably wind up getting the one that is not chosen the following year. As for affording games, I more than likely can get one game, if any, and just ask for a few more as holiday gifts until I can save up for more. So no matter what I choose, I thankfully won't be too strapped for content.
I hear what you're saying. Nintendo is definitely quite secretive and it would be more justified if they were bringing out a ton of content at a time. Whatever games Nintendo have cooking up, they need to get them out quickly, and any newer ones that have yet to be revealed need to be worked on as quickly as possible.
Pretty accurate to some people, actually...
How on earth is the Xbox One obsolete? To the One's credit it had HDMI recording support at launch and Sony has taken quite some time to get the update to fix that out there. PS4 is the better console, but it's not infallible and it certainly doesn't render its primary competition obsolete.
People focus too much on numbers and apparently Xbox One doing decently is a bad thing or somehow threatening to Sony's success to some people. People are upset because they get antsy about little things that don't really affect them. But then, that's a lot of the internet.
N4G is not a bad site, but unfortunately the community can be pretty unreasonable and antagonistic. I'm a Sony fan, but I like to think I'm more open minded about other game companies and what they have to offer. I want all three to do well. Microsoft's competition and Nintendo's competition HELP Sony improve themselves. I wish more people recognized that.
The best way to look at it is Xbox One may not be outperforming PS4 but it's still doing respectable numbers. No reason to downvote anyone for being happy about that. The Xbox One could be doing much worse than this and people don't seem to realize that.
^This. Games should be at the at most forefront of any console. Media features like this are secondary. They're great to have of course, but if running the games optimally means delaying those features, I'm cool with it.
Ugh, why the heck is it every time a company OTHER than Sony finds success everyone starts arguing? Microsoft is making some money, chill out guys. :/
ALRIGHT! Update release date! Looking forward to all of the upcoming Let's Plays. :D
Vita's all too underrated. Hopefully Sony can get all those digital games Vita compatible again and soon.
I definitely see where you're coming from. Perhaps I put too much emphasis on cross-connectivity in my blog. Either way, I do appreciate your input. There are plenty of other facts I'm considering with these purchases. For example, if I wait long enough I might be able to get a PS4/Vita bundle on the cheap. Or perhaps a Wii U for a ridiculously good deal on Black Friday. But the reasoning boils down mostly on how much money I can save and of course which investment will be the most ef...
The good thing about my job is that the pay is nice but the bad part is the hours are minimal. So I actually do have a pretty significant amount of time each week to just kick back and play video games. If I had to take a guess, I can get at least 20 hours throughout the week to play games. Great point about the Wii U/Wii aspect. I totally forgot to mention that the Wii U was backwards compatible. But either way, I currently do own a Wii and have some games on it. Donkey Kong, ironically enou...
Never heard if he had a One, but I know he has two Wii Us and he has said kind things about Spencer in the past.
