There were a few gems this generation, but I think it just goes to show how sparse of new great IP's there were compared to last generation and prior. To be fair, game development takes longer and cost more than before.
Yes it does. It's easy to ignore when you don't pay attention. It doesn't matter if the cop is black or white, they defend one anothers actions regardless. The biggest issue with the last 2 Halo games was how the story was handled between the events of halo 4 and 5. Nobody should have to ready outside source material to understand the story of the mainline video game. Outside source material should only expand on the lore of the universe. The Didact was this really interesting enemy in Halo 4 and then all of a sudden he gets killed off in a comic. WTF is that shit!? Heavenly Sword is the only Ninja Theory title I haven't played. I did know Andy Serkis was in Enslaved, but didn't know he was Heavenly Sword so that's cool. I still have my ps3 so maybe I can find it for cheap. I think Ninja Theory should try to get the IP back from Sony since I don't see Sony ever using it again in the future.
Fortnite is a new IP. Battle royal is a game mode within Fortnite and the original tower defense is still there I think.
