"Console exclusive" is not the same as "exclusive." Death Stranding ps4 console exclusives. Gears 5 xbox console exclusive. The last of Us ps4 exclusive. It fairly straight forward.
Acting like Grounded is the only game Obsidian is working on is laughable. They're working on 3 different projects. Grounded being developed by the smallest teams.

They added a bunch of "spartan ability" like clamber, ground pound, slide, thrust, stabilize while scoped in mid air, charge ability to break through walls, smart scope which is different than how aiming was before, and when sprinting shield doesn't regenerate. Everyone has these abilities from the get-go. I thought the new abilities worked well, especially in multiplayer. At the same time, Halo purist felt it strained too far from the core game play of Halo.
It would be cool to get a new Hydro Thunder.

They did change it up for Halo 5. It plays vastly different than any other Halo game
Of course MS cares about selling consoles. Their still needs to be some form of hardware to sell software and subscriptions. XBox live and gamepass on consoles makes MS a ton of money. They wouldn't be as aggressive with the launch of the Series X and waiting for Sony to make the first move on pricing. They also wouldn't be making Lockhart as a cheaper alternative to the Series X if they didn't care.
