Do you know Seti@Home ? Well it's basically the same idea, except that it uses a network of PC (and now consoles) to crunch numbers for the study of protein folding and misfolding (SETI was for the decoding of space radio signals)
Numbers are very impressive. I've seen several reports from individual gamers saying that it was ~200 times faster than their PC.
Those screens are really, really old :/

Turning lighting up won't fix the over blooming in 360 games, tho.
What's up with glow effects abuse on the 360. Just look at the mech when it boosts, or the limit between sky and mountains. It's glowing like hell on the 360. Not the first time I see this tho, games always look more plastic and glowing on the 360. Not my cup of tea.
Other than that, i barely see any differences in models, animations etc.
I don't know how those guys do to release two great games in just one year. They simply rock.

And they forgot to take into account the huge power consumption (as compared to the PS3) for the Wii, thanks to the stupid wiiconnect 24. It sucks like 8 times more power than an idling PS3 (or 360).

Launch events for the PS2 were massive. There was even mini riots lol.
Now I think a number of factors explain this difference.
- the PS3 is very expensive
- Sony has very negative press all around, and there was almost NO advertising here in Europe
- For the PS2, the number of consoles available was extremely limited. So many people came to the events to get a chance to grab one. Sony shipped tons of PS3 for Europe, and many people ...
