"When we first offered the PS2, there were no semiconductor companies that were able to make chips for the machine, so we did it ourselves. But now, there are companies that specialize in chip production," Nakagawa said.

I think it's a smart move. Leaving other companies manufacture it isn't a bad idea after all. So that doesn't mean they stop to support the cell, just they won't produce it anymore. After, if others are good at it, why would they spend money on production...

Naaah. I wasn't replying to you. Just to the other user that said the japanese gamers were waiting for the 360 version of VF5. I wasn't speaking 'bout DOA at all.

That's funny cause, just to take my case as an example, I've posted neutral, game related news, and I'm never offensive or off topic in my comments. And guess what ? Already one bubble gone. I'd like to know why lol.

Meanwhile, some dudes that keep bashing over and over (games, companies or N4G members), repeating like 54052 times the same stuff, keep their bubbles or even earn some (some users already got 7 bubbles, yeah right)

So excuse me if i think some of th...

Explain me where did I say that DAO didn't sell well ? o_O

That's not really surprising. I don't think VF5 is a system seller. Japanese gamers just spend their time on the arcade version. They built their chars etc, so i doubt VF5's sales will go very high.

The 4th episode has sold like 500000 copies. Considering the PS2 install base in japan, that's somewhat weak.

But considering it's a direct sequel, story wise, it'd be better to beat the first one before playing to GoW II.

You should have no problem finding GoW at a cheap price. And since GoWII won't be released til a month or so, you have plenty of time to play the first one =P

That was a funny one.

BTW, looks like most stores had one or two PS3 on the shelves ?

I thought they were stockpiling ?

I've missed a "small" detail when i first read the IGN review

"The first is that God of War II will not only be playable on the PlayStation 3, of course, but that it will run at a true HD resolution of 720p. We're unsure as of yet whether or not we'll see additional texture detail because of this, but we'll update this section of the review when we can test it."

omg ?

Amazing source ! XD

So you guys reject the UK OPM as a source for Bioshock coming to PS3, but take this screenshot from a post on a unknown forum as a credible source. If if that wasn't ridiculous enough, you sound like it was an official statement from EA. Yeah right.

Geez, that's even worse than i thought. lol

@18.3> The PS3 doesn't cost 600 minimum. 500 would be a bit more correct right ?

The PS2's price on launch was 450$/€
Add the price of a memory card, and you're very close to the 20GB PS3 model.

@18.4> you forgot about the DC. It had great games when the PS2 came out and was doing pretty well.

Gundam and the Musou series (dynasty warriors) are very very popular in Japan. No surprise they're making a PS3 bundle with this game.

Outside of japan, I doubt it'll sell very well (and certainly not in the US)

"The PS3 version of Oblivion isn't a simple port of the game either, although players who have picked up the 360 version will be very familiar with the control scheme. For one thing, the PS3 version has been optimized to take advantage of the Cell processor and hardware that the system offers. As a result, the game runs a lot faster than the 360 build. Entering dungeons or buildings results in a load of 3-5 seconds, compared to the 7-10 seconds or longer for the 360 version of the game. ...

A similar development time doesn't really mean anything. Don't forget that developpers had the final PS3 dev kits around summer 2006. YOu can't actually completely develop a game without the final kits. Now how long have they been working on gears with final kits ? More than a year.

BR drives simply have more bandwith than DVD drives. Just like DVD drives have more than CD drives. So you can't simply tell 12X is faster than 2X.

A single layer DVD being read by a 12X drive, that's about 16MB/s.
But for dual layers discs, the final average bandwith is about like the one for a 8X drive. So that's around 10.5~11MB/s.

a 2X BRD drive has a bandwith of 9MB/s. So the difference isn't that huge.

When a 12X dvd drive reads data f...

At least Sony's updates actually improve their system, they don't brick it :)

AFAIK the developpers said during an interview that they didn't want (and never would) an online mode for VF games because of lag issues.

So i doubt they'll make one for the 360 version. But who knows, they can change their mind too.

There's already more PS3's than 360's in Japan but they're waiting for the 360 version ? Yeah sure.

And the 360 version won't get online either btw

Around 32k VF5 copies were sold on the first day

Looking at previous ND's games, I can't remember one using CGI. THey've always used ingame engines for cut scenes. I think the trailer is a mix of cut scenes and gameplay, but the differences are barely noticeable.
