Well. Kudos to Bethesda for proving that crappy ports are to blame, not the PS3 hardware.
It's only true in THEIR case. Because they developped an engine and now they sell it. It doesn't contradict the fact that they actually had to develop the engine in the first place. Ok now they're selling it. But still, if you really wanna estimate the cost of gears, you have to take the engine costs into account. To develop gears, they had to have an engine first. And it costed a lot of money.
They can't make a general state out of what happens for them.

9 million $ for GoW yeah. But i really doubt they take the costs of the UE3 development into consideration.
So let's say another company makes a clone of gears, they'd spend 9 million $ PLUS the costs of developping an engine equivalent to the UE3. That, or they'd just buy it.
So in fact, gears's cost is higher than that.
Sony needs more home made tools. It seems like 1st party developpers really know HOW to handle the hardware. Just look at resistance or motorstorm. They're WAY more impressive than 3rd party titles. They must teach them the "how to"

Actually i was only speaking about the japanese market. VF5 won't make 360's sell better there. BD didn't, GoW didn't, LP didn't.
That, and the fact that the PS3 version will come months before the 360 version.
So yeah, in Japan VF5 may make the PS3 sales go up in a very significant way.
Funny, you say to people "hey, the PS2 sales rape the 360's sales" and they reply "b-b-b-b-but the PS2 is so cheaper", and then the same people say "omglol the wii outsells the PS3".
Well for those who didn't pay attention to this, the PS3 sales in japan dropped for 3 weeks now, so did the Wii sales, and with the same percentages. January is always a quiet month in japan, and no big games releases don't help.

Is completely useless. Many countries already have those kind of services.
In France, most ISP's give IPTV for "free". You can get a 20Mb DSL line, illimited phone calls in many countries, and about 100 TV channels for 30 euros.
I don't see the point of getting the 360's IPTV service in that case.
