I guess you guys missed this earlier today:
http://n4g.com/industrynews...

I thought the prices were meant to be decent in the US though. There are apparently a few games that have decent pricing while others are complete rip-offs.

It seems to be taking a similar route to Dawn of War 2. I've always liked base building and thought it was a shame Dawn of War 2 didn't have any. I'm still getting this though.

I'm guessing you haven't played the first which was amazing.

If it's at least as good as the first you won't regret buying it.

I hope you can choose a voice and the voices of team members. I want a decent British accent lol :P

edit: it seems it's just USMC and PLA so I guess there won't be any British accents :(

I remember Jack Tretton saying at E3 (about Sony's motion controller) that Sony isn't interested in being first but is interesting in being best. I'd say the same applies to it's consoles.

edit: I can't find the video. I remember it being one of those interview vids where some developer was being interviewed and Tretton happened to be there (or something like that). I think it was on IGN's E3 coverage page.

Not a bad idea that. It might even be cheaper to buy a used PS2 game and stick the code in.

edit: @Microsoft Xbox 360 it's really not a bad idea. If you already own a game why not be able to download it? Isn't Sony planning something like that for PSP games? Can't remember. Anyway you can do that kind of thing on Steam. I put the serial key for Unreal Tournament 3 in my Steam client and am now able to download it and play whenever I want on whichever computer I want without havin...

True that but I don't understand why there is such a huge difference in the prices of games for different regions.

Shipping games to other regions can't cost that much can it?

6159d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

What blaze has said about MS pricing games according to the retail prices in each region is true but I think MS should price them at about $10 lower than the average retail price for each particular region.

There's no excuse for charging more for a downloadable game than the retailers but then again not all retailers sell at the same price. That is why I think MS should calculate the average retail price of a game in whichever region and price accordingly from that.

New IPs usually don't do as well as sequals for established IPs.

It takes a lot of money and resources to produce a new IP which might or might not sell well. Either way, a sequal can improve on the original and sell better in which case it makes more money for devs to produce further sequals and new IPs which bring something new to games.

IMO it's best to have a balance of both new IPs and sequals.

Hang on a minute, isn't the whole point of simulation to be realistic?

How can you say it's more simulation than realistic?

6160d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Could be but wouldn't that make it look bigger?

but the price would be even lower if it had the normal RRP.

edit: My local Asda sold CoD5 at £28 for it's first two days on release. If they do the same with this it'll probably be around £38 this time.

I don't know about you but I'd prefer to pay £28 instead of £38.

edit2: Also, there's more to it that simply getting Activision to drop the price. The most we can hope for is for the actual sales figures to be lower than predicted and ...

Wow, that's nice of ElementX to admit he was wrong and apologise.
Not something you see very often on here.

It actually tells you that you can get the games cheaper from play.com and even has a link to it? O_O

Do you mean GRAW or Ghost Recon 1 & 2 because first two were great.

Never really got into GRAW myself.

I wish someone would smack that smile off his face.

Also, didn't the price rise by £10? It says £5 but the recommended retail price for a console game here is £45 and £35 for a PC game.
Retailers usually sell them at £40 and £30 though.

Having played some of Crysis Core on PSP I thought the none combat parts of the game do take some time to get through.

Now I know why there are so many little "pauses" when there isn't anything going on and I still can't control my character to continue the game.

You're right. There is a slight blurr to the PS3 one and makes it look a tad darker other than that they're identical.

6162d ago 15 agree19 disagreeView comment

I doubt it'll be as slim as that.

If it increases performance then it's fine IMO but that does mean that if you want to get the most out of it you'll need a hard drive.
