@Godmars290
If they really did that, it would just kill the amount of hype to it.
People would go : "I could pay to play online on my console, or I can play this easily on a very low profile PC completely for free,"
@Kyur4ThePain & Pixel_Pusher
Ask yourself what's the main functionality of the electronic?
When one thinks iPhone, the FIRST idea that pops into their head is a.....phone....
360/PS3/DS/PSP.....a gaming device.
We might as well call cars - Portable MP3 players if you consider how you guys rate the functionality of things.
In Japan people play a lot of games on the cell phone, but they don't necess...
@evilbart
I will say this again time after time. You can still establish getting Other OS from them within a company.
Dude, OtherOS ran more sluggish on an overall basis by itself than a dedicated computer.
@Lucreto
That's what I've been trying to explain to people.
@Legion
I was at the Intel conference during the time of showing. When Remedy showed it off, they didn't have a publisher, and was working on just the PC version.
MS Game Studios came around, and they made it so that it was 360/PC. Then later down the line they scrapped the PC version stating that it was a game better suited on consoles(though we all know that was a lie given the fact of how the game was shown before, and then after the switch).
@CrazyForGames
Asking for donations before hand, leaving during this case.
There's a thing called CANCELING TRIPS. No matter which way you look at it, it's just bad reputation for this action.
I mean look at what happened during Hurricane Katrina, when Bush left off it was vacation. He could have just canceled the whole thing, but no...chose to continue on instead, and his reputation got thrashed badly.
vacation or not it's just stupid when you think about it.
Why would you take a vacation, after asking so many people for legal battle donations.
His priorities are screwed up.
@Legion
That may be, except that Alan Wake was a PC exclusive turned into a 360 only exclusive and this was changed a good portion of the way into development that was made public ever since from Intel.
I do agree that it also could be taken in as damaging, but what seems a bit worse? Cutting a portion of your install base off, or COMPLETELY alienating them.
Also this is for others commenting on the article:
There's a difference ...
For some reason I'm getting from your comment that they should either limit down the PC version or suppose to go up with the consoles on a PC oriented series.
2)
I can answer that one. Because Microsoft does it in a way that's more damaging to consumers, and possibly development. GTA IV DLC, Alan Wake being 360 only instead of it being PC, having games becoming multiplatform part way through development instead of from the initial standpoint.
Basically they use their money at bad timings.
There isn't a double standard as all companies do it. It's HOW they do it which makes a difference....
@norman29
People think they're funny by being jackasses.
"Plus you will be able to modify the graphics setting individually like Crysis and Warhead through config files. "
That's the problem. You can do that with ANY GAME on the PC more or less.
Why do we have to go deeper into what the devs didn't simply provide?
" As a result, you can buy the game for just $39.99 for a limited time. The PC game download has also been discounted to $47.59. "
Why can't they make all 3 versions the same price?
"Either way, free or paid, its pretty much guaranteed that you will have the opportunity to get all these costumes in the future."
That's not necessarily true. There's been 1 too many times where it was impossible to get certain things in games without pre-ordering them down the line.
Thing is though in this case, it seems like you'll have the opportunity. As far as things seem to be it's more than likely just unlocking the stuff in...
@DevilishSix
I'm going to be a devil's advocate here, but you're going off of HDD space and/or streaming.
You feel like installing every asset of a game before playing it?
@dave7zombie
What the hell does the military have to do with quality of gaming?
Metro 2033 was nice, and it wasn't the same devs.
Get your facts straight before you start mouthing off.
Also check the PC platform, THQ published Warhammer 40k:Dawn of War series.
"Also, Steam is obviously getting ready to enhance their DRM to include the concept of tying games to a specific PC with reacent "security" enhancement. "
Actually that's DRM that's under the consumer's control.
To him, I don't think it'll really matter.
Getting out of it in a far-fetched means is getting out of it at all.
Now I know the reviewers are late to the party:
"On top of the 3D, the actual graphics are pretty good, a lot better than the [?] dated stuff you saw on previous Nintendo game devices. Definitely not Playstation 3 quality, for instance, but they've definitely reached a point where even hardcore gamers... like me, for instance, who grew up on Halo, won't mind playing around with this thing. "
