Over the last two console generations... story telling has become more and more important for me. While I still enjoy a mindless killing romp the games I remember and go back to are more story driven games.
Right now it seems the gaming market is split in 2 directions. One path is for a more movie approach, while the other is going for a more graphical approach.
The more I read about Mass Effect the more I want to play it. It's going to be tough waiting for my holiday to start so I can enjoy Mass Effect to it's fullest.
I doubt it will have any effect on the format war. Blockbuster going out of business has more to do with lower costs of purchasing DVDs and the ability to order movies through cable/sat.
It's friday... live a little
"Is it just me or are people lying to themselves and letting developers make these games where everything is overcomplicated?"
Interesting just because you think a game looks boring. Everyone else is lying if they think it looks good. Wow someone is full of themselves or has their fanboy googles on too tight.
wow impressive... can't wait to pick up COD4 next week
While I didn't really enjoy Stranglehold (just enough to finish the game). I do hope it sells well since I would hate for Midway to go under.
It's from Bioware, did anyone except anything less?
Enternal Sonata was one of the best JRPG I've played in the last few years. While the plot can be pretty preaching at points it's does have deep storyline.
Looks like another great game for the PS3 next year
I definitely disagree... you have to see the game in motion to get a good sense on how well the graphics look, espically in HD.
I am not at all a supporter of HD-DVD but "I Do Blu" has to be one of the stupidest names for an ad campaign I've ever heard.
Stranglehold isn't a bad game but wasn't great either.
My main issue was there was too much shooting and not enough exploring / walking around. Some of the chapters had a nice balance of shooting and exploring while others just involved the entering a room and shooting as fast as you can and repeat.
I don't agree that there is any sort of review bias happening in game industry. Sure there are a few odd reviews here and there but it's more based on personal taste then bribery and hype.
What has changed in this generation and for the most part the last generation is the online community. People now consider any video game that receives an average score of 70% is automatically garbage, even without the trying the game themselves.
Fanboys are flooding forms full...
I have no doubt that Mass Effect will be another ground-breaking game from one of masters of RPG genre (bioware).
I just hope Bioware doesn't share them same fate as Origin
Wow I haven't laughed so hard in ages... thanks Korn
"Its line-up is the best Microsoft has ever had in Japan."
I agree with that statement then again it wouldn't be that difficult to do.
Personally I don't really care how well x360 does in Japan since the major reason a bought the xbox and the x360 was for it's western developed games.
wow January is already looking like it's going to be busy month for video gamers
Oblivion Demo could possibly work... all they would have to do is keep the entire demo inside a cave or dungeon.
Bring on the Wii or PS2 port 6 months later
Exactly
