While I agree with every game on the list (expect for Assassin's Creed which I haven't played yet) was in one form or another a let-down from what the game was hyped to be.
UT has always been about refined gameplay, speed and completely unrealistic deathmatches (which is a nice change of pace).
The news couldn't have come on a better day for PS3 owners.
Personally I am not big on online multi-player games but it will make a fragtastic holiday season for PS3 owners in North America.
Took Bethesda long enough to release the add-on as a download instead of having to re-buy Oblivion. The add-on is worth the cost, another 30 hours of RPG goodness with an unique and engaging storyline.
WOW I usually don't care about the odd review score but giving Bladestorm an 8 and Mass Effect a 7?
I guess Edge must have a different opinion on what makes a good game then I do. Oh well Mass Effect is a 10 in my book and that's the only review that matters.
@deep : I wouldn't mind reading the full review and I am over getting defensive over any one review. I've had too many good game experiences with games that I wasn't supposed to ;)
Haze being delayed to next year is not surprising. Most times if a game is pushed to December then there is a very good chance the developer will push the game back an extra few months. Since the game has already missed most of the holiday shopping season.
At the moment I can only remember a few good games coming out in the December (Deus Ex2, KOTOR2, FFX)
Two Worlds should have been on the list... sure the game wasn't hyped and most people didn't think it would be good. But the developer hyped the game to almost be an Oblivion killer and it didn't even come close
Jericho wasn't bad as some of the reviews made it out to be. Personally I would rather play a game like Jericho then a lightgun game.
no it's called grasping at straws
wow this thread reminds me of the South Park movie... when anything negative is said about Sony it's "Blame Microsoft"
All fault must be put where it belongs and that is with Fox News and the lows they go to provide sensationalism on a slow news days.
I agree it all comes down to what sort of games you like play everything else is secondary.
Good example during the last console I ended up playing xbox more than my ps2, due too the more western developer support. The price and how well the ps2/xbox were never a concern of mine (and still arn't).
As much as I am looking forward to Mass Effect, I am not at upset with Gamespots review. A review is basically a opinion and Gamespots opinion is different then my when it comes to Mass Effect.
I couldn't watch more then 5 minutes of the original "Advent Children" I doubt seeing it 1080p will change much. Still good news for everyone that loves the FF7 mythology.
I love these articles... it allows me to block the bias idiots first that way I when I actually read an article I want. I don't have fanboys ruining it.
for a good example see above
I rented SOF over the weekend because I just had to try it (been a fan of FPS since Wolfenstein). If you liked the first two SOF games and want a more old school FPS experience you can't go wrong with SOF.
Mass Effect is as much an FPS as Uncharted is.
Bioware has always been the pinnacle when comes to Western RPGs. So it's not a big surprise to see Mass Effect score this well.
It's going to be hard to wait an extra month so I can play this gem without having to worry about work.
don't know if you are being sarcastic or not... ;) but either way the day is still young and most likely will get worse once people get out of school.
Mass Effect would have probably scored worse in the graphics department if it was in different genre other then RPG
I agree with MGS2 being on the list... I remember being so hyped for MGS2 after playing the demo and only to find that in the full game the story just wasn't up to same quality as MGS and instead of being able to use Snake I was stuck with Raiden for 90% of the game.
MGS2 wasn't a bad game just not at the same level as MGS
