it won't as the article doesn't have any flamebait, now change the article title to "Head 2 Head comparisons: [insert console name] version is always better then [insert console name] version"
Head 2 Head comparisons are pretty much useless this console generation with the majority of third-party games looking almost identical on each system (the exception being the Wii).
They did serve a good purpose for the last few console generations, when the performance gap between systems was pretty large.
Personally I try not to get hyped too much for any game, as I've found that most times it sets the bar so high. That no matter how good the game is, it almost feels like a let down.
I'd rather be pleasantly surprised.
Just do what I do, and don't give a rats a$$ on what other people's GOTY choices were and stick with your own.
The joys of personal preference :) and yes Fallout 3 was my GOTY and yes I did play MGS4.
Thanks to fanboys on both sides, N4G has turned from a great place to check out different reviews of new games and up-to-date gaming news.
to
Duplicate flamebait articles that filled with people that have multiple accounts so they can spread their own personal bias and pretend it's the truth.
yeah I saw the two reviews after I re-read the article, hence why I changed my comment
EDIT:
My favorite game last year was Fallout 3, through LBP was definitly one of the runner-ups. As for the GOTY awards given by websites/magazines they never factor into my own personal GOTY award.
Wow I completely forgot that MUA:2 was due out this week. I'm probably going to pick up this instead of WET. As it will give me something to play with the g/f.
It's been my opinion that a GOTY award is too subjective of a category to have a universal winner. Every magazine/website will have its own opinion, along with individual gamers. Heck for the last 5 years a multi-platform has been my GOTY.
I stand corrected, 105% still it doesn't make a lot of sense (math wise).
Interesting, one of the first times I've seen anyone review a game at 110%. Percentage wise it doesn't make a lot of sense and reminds me of Maury Povich's show.
Definitely going to picking up Uncharted 2, at some point before Christmas. Though I doubt it will be my GOTY, as Naughty Dog likes to release their games around the same time that Bioware does.
no doubt, but there really is nothing you can do about it
People will systemically find these questionable websites and post them on n4g. Then use the scores as justification on why the game sucks, while ignoring all other reviews for the game. It happens to every exclusive or big game and of course fanboys will deny doing it.
good find
BaschPS3 if the review embargo is anything like it was for Halo3. We most likely won't see reviews from game sites in till Sunday/Monday.
The score looked bad, in till I realized that the score came from a blog/submit your own article(s) website.
I have a high respect for bungie, so I'm going to wait and make up my mind on the title once I read a few reviews from a professional source.
I'll pass I'm not a big fan of multiplayer demos. I'm going to wait in till the release week and see who has the best deal.
depends on who has the better hiding spot
Interesting article, though it makes a lot of assumptions on which motion control system is easier to develop for.
While some of the assumptions are logical, I'm going to wait in till we hear from developers on which one is easier to develop for.
yes it was
A nice freebie for all the people that didn't wait for the GOTY version of Fallout 3 (like me).
