Ok. Where did I ever say anything about my feelings?

Way to misrepresent.

You are totally missing the point. Both arguments are hyperbole. You are just choosing the hyperbole that fits your narrative.

Broken games? False advertisement? Where are these things? And when are they not called out for these things?

If anything we have a industry that is driven by fanboys and hyperbole. Outrage in every corner. If it isn&#...

Pfft the outrage sheep are just as problematic when it comes to where this industry is at.

You want devs and publishers to be honest with the community, while at the same time calling for the flogging of people that just speak their mind.

Its a conteadiction that will stop this industry from evolving

Just because you agree with the premise does not mean the article is good.

His justification basically boils down to. "I don't know that it can capture the magic again". That is it. Nothing of real substance. No reflection on why or how.

@CBaoth

Honestly. Dan Houser's part in writing for Red Dead Redemption could be argued as one of the worst parts of the game.

Maybe it's just me, but Red Dead Redemptions overly satirical segments stood out like a sore thumb.

Especially when you contrast it with the emotional depth the game otherwise managed to bring.

I know I am not alone in this opinion. Red Dead Redemption was arguably better than Grand ...

Sure. I am not arguing against the concept of equal representation.

I am talking about the experience of gameplay, because that is what the majority of the article was about.

Negative was perhaps a strong word. You reacted to the idea that communication without words was not really something you associated with deafness. At least it seemed that way to me.

Cause while most deaf people probably communicate with words, either through speak and mouth reading or sign language. The idea that someone unable to hear words would need to communicate on a different level is an interesting concept. Something that I would argue justifies having a deaf protag...

Well he says he is deaf.

I still think he misses some basic points in this article though.

2735d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The first thing that strikes me is that the fact that the protagonist is deaf is not made for his benefit.

It's a weird thing. I can understand that the writer being deaf makes it natural that he would be interested in a game with a deaf protagonist.

The only problem is that any game with a deaf protagonist is not made to appeal to deaf gamers. It is made to give hearing gamers a different viewpoint on how you interact with your surroundings. Less one...

kind of misleading title.

Overweight is very relative in this context. I mean the example that is being used is David Harbour and his "dad-bod".

I mean he is not very fit and definitely not skinny, but considering the comment section it is clear people took overweight to mean obese.

The game has been in early access for a year.. What is this about an embargo all og a sudden?

Space sim is not exclusively used for games that simulate space.

How could it. No game has been able to.

Generally speaking it is most often shorthand for space flight simulators.

Even then No Man's Sky is light on the sim side. However being light on an area does not disqualify one from a genre. Especially as genre's themselves is a subjective tool.

People that try to excuse Trading card games as not being the equivilant of loot boxes are people that do not understand their own stance.

They are the same thing. Anyone that wants to pretend otherwise, must have jumped on to the bandwagon without actually thinking about what that means.

There is no way you can make the argument that digital loot boxes is more like gambling than trading card games. It is the opposite way.

When you b...

Well he is right in the fact that the current reactionary outrage towards microtransactions paints pretty much everything with one brush. I am just not so sure Fifa Ultimate Team deserves to be part of the exception. It is arguably one of the beacons witin the industry, when it comes to profits. It is arguably the example that has forced many developers to adopt some sort of random element microtransaction.

I do think a discussion can be had about the potential value of a ...

I don't agree. I think people see From Software's animation style and instantly expect souls-like.

It looks a lot more like an action adventure/beat em up game. The traversal mechanics with the claw. The predetermined character. The undying system, which sounds like the opposite of a souls-like.

Hey I could be wrong, but I think people want it to be a souls-like because it is from software and are reading too much into it.

Multiplayer was always touted as a novelty feature.

Seriously. Every intetview he did after the e3 reveal he tried to clarify how i unimportant it was, because that was all he was asked about. Over and over again.

A novelty feature that got cut. It happens with every game that has ever been released.

Bottomline is. Anyone that thought the game would actually have Multiplayer, clearly did not follow the game...

Spider-Man might not be your favorite, but he is without a doubt Marvels most popular property.

Secondly. What other super-hero from the marvel universe has the mechanical potential of Spider-Man's web swinging?

Thirdly. It has been a minute since the last well received Spider-Man game.

I mean I am all for people branching out and giving us more diversity. However, I don't think denying the market for that reason alone is a go...

The idea that Murray is a con-artist is so blown out of proportion it's silly at this point.

Just because people believe the hype that was being perpetuated by the fans and the media he gets blamed for lying about a game he was very honest about.

Like the whole multiplayer fiasco. He repeatedly stated that this was not a multiplayer game and if you expected to play with your friends you should find another game for you. The game was always about the...
