This idea that one had to be the same ethnicity as the character one voices is quite silly an ultimately does not serve the ends this writer is trying to achieve.

What about a person of color voicing a White character? Because that happens all the time, that is the freedom that voice acting is supposed to give the creative people behind the work. Stuff like Terrence C. Carson and Christopher Judge (both black/afro-American) voicing kratos (a white character of greek descent...

I am sorry, but this is not news. Nor is it controversial.

Bethesda, as all other devs, have the prerogative to reuse code and scripts. It is not a reflection of laziness nor the quality of a title.

Code gets reused all the time. And it is not a big deal.

Fallout 76 might not be up to everyones standard, but this is just grasping at straws.

Oh, you are one of those. Living in the past can't see the forest for the trees, etc. etc.

You are actively arguing that old ips are better than new. You are in fact arguing for the industry to become more generic not less.

I get it is not your point, but that is how you have formed the argument. You are saying that instead of making new ips such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Knack. Sony should have made sequels to old franchises instead.

Hahahahahaha. Horizon Zero Dawn was generic and embarrassing?

I mean I can understand not liking open world games, but that game was a freaking master class on not being generic. You are fighting robot dinosaurs for gods sake. How can you call that generic? Not to mention that it managed to do that while telling a quite complex plot with several timelines and viewpoints being explored. A storyline that explores the paradox of the human existence, both as a piece of science ...

And comparing drugs to microtransactions is not an invalid argument?

Well I don't think this testing is very accurate to begin with. One would have to account for the baseline lag of the monitor itself.

But as Destiny 2 tested at 1ms one can assume that the 10ms increase of Red Dead Redemption would have to be added on top of the input lag of your monitor.

So most big screen TVs have a hard time getting below 20ms and if you add 10ms to that, we are starting to get into dangerous territory.

Now I ...

He is one of the most sought after writer's in the industry.

He wont have any issue getting work. As we have seen seeing as he had worked om many projects sine leaving obsidian.

What are you talking about?

Witcher 3 has a weapon maintance system and shaving too. It also has limited travel, perhaps not as limited as RDR 2, but it is more limited than most other open world games out there.

Your whole argument falls flat.

Both are great games, mainly for the same reason. They try to not compromise their vision to fulfill some trend.
Now whether each game will float your nancy or not is another thing en...

How the world has changed. A game with bad pacing is now a game that is too slow. It used to be the other way around. Which is also where the expression comes from.

I. E. To pace yourself, does not mean to go all out 100% of the time. A game used to get praise for great pacing it was when it gave you moments to breathe and appreciate the smaller details. Now a days it seems the oposite is true.

Regardless pacing is always off in open world games as they, ...

The question is rather why don't you?

This is a design choice and it has always been a design choice. Arcady vs. realistic. The argument now seems to be going in direction that controls have to be super responsive and arcady to be considered good.

Everyone can have a preference, but weighty animation systems and controls serve a purpose. Pretending like it doesn't is either ignorant or dishonest.

The climbing in AC 1 was objectively better than the one we have in the current iteration of AC. The animation blending has being going down hill since AC III.

You have to remember what AC 1 was. A shell of a game with an engine entirely built around the idea of blending animations climbing buildings.

The system however was reworked for AC III and has never been the same again. Odyssey and Origins are of course different games with a much different focus...

I hope not. I know I am probably in the minority here, but I really didn't like Undead Nightmare. We have zombies in almost every game out there. Would rather see DLC stick with the games theme.

You think impotent rage went after liberals?

And you think that somehow makes the game go after liberals?

I guess you cant really blame people for not getting it. Gta has always been misunderstood in its appeal.

Gta has always been anti-American on its satire. No matter which way the pendelum swings.

I do think calling a game that features characters like trevor anti-liberal quite ironic though

I don't really have a horse in this race, but that I can't help, but point out bad logic when it is being presented.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

MMOs have an expectancy of content that shooters like COD will never reach.

But I digress. When people are talking about single player and multiplayer in COD they are talking about a story based campaign and multiplayer game modes. The difference is not technically that one i...

I loved origins and i like what they are doing with odyssey, but I still agree.

While I think the new direction has a lot of potential, something has been lost.

It is something about the ease of access, the power fantasy, these new experiences take a much bigger investment both timewise and mentally. So while I really enjoy the new direction I also miss what we had before.

I also think the slot in the market that assassins Creed used t...

Spider-man was good, but unlikely to be in any serious game of the year considerations, at least for me. God of War is still the game to beat. Arguably the most polished experience of the generation and still one of the top choices for game of the year.

To put it like this. I don't see Spider-man having a shot in the dark against Red Dead Redemeption 2, but God of War still, at least, has a shot.

You guys are missing the point. People claimed as with ac here, that the grind was made longer to entice purchase MTs. Yet MTs had no effect on the grind and when they patched it, the grind stayed the same.

If people want to hold a principled stance on MTs that is fine, but the argument that was and is being presented is dishonest. That is something I care about.
