Well everyone was expecting Rocksteady to show of their current project last year, it was even considered the most likely prediction, and that did not happen. So absolutely no guarantee we will this year. Here is hoping though.

The Arkham Combat system is arguably the best new combat system to be created in the last decade.

It has miles of depth and is not a button masher at all. People percieve it as such because they only play the game on easy. Playing the games on hard and/or doing the games challenge modes and you will instantly realize that button mashing just does not work, at all.

The system lets you feel powerful, even when you are not a master, but requires acutal mec...

People are having the typical knee-jerk reaction to anything considering games as a service as usual here I see.

Totally ignoring what made skate great in the first place. Which is what this article aptly points out. In fact I would argue this would be better for the game than any shallow story mode. Which was never what made the series good.

Why not? Just because the first Watch Dogs did not live up to the hype, you think none of the unique and innovative adpects of the series deserve to live on?

Here is the thing though. It really is a great game.

The stuff it gets criticized for seems extremely unfair.

Pop in, slow down and bugs. Things that are present in every 3D game released, ever. Especially open world games. Does Days Gone have more of this than what we have come to expect. Well not in my experience. I have had 1 crash and the slowdowns and pop in only happens rarely. On par with what I experience in every open world game.

Abdolutely. One of the biggest ovetsights in the criticism of this game.

It has a really good loop and a really good reward system for said loop.

Things that are too often missing and overlooked. Just look at how badly ubisoft handles this aspect of their open world games.

I have one criticism of the reward system in Days Gone however. And that is that the very last rewards, in particular weapons, loose their relevance by the time you...

I am looking forward to Part 2 for sure, but I wonder if they can ever capture the magic of the first game. The twist at the end was particulary interesting. And how, I assume, all of us were perfectly willing to sacrifice the life of everyone to save Ellie. And how gutwrenching it was to watch Joel lie to her about it afterwards.

I am sure the game will explore the after effects of that choice, but I wonder if anything close to it can actually be recreated. It is one of t...

Lbp 2 made a huge shift in what was possible to create. While at the same time being almost 100% backwards compatible with levels created in Lbp 1. Lbp 3 was not made by media molecule and this (Dreams) really is a whole nother thing. This is a creation toolset and a plattform, not a game. While Lbp did have that aspiration as well. The fact that it was built on top of a side scrolling plattformer held it back. Dreams is not an attempt to cash in on Lbp, but clearly the accumelation of media ...

Still has the worst protagonist. Don't get me wrong. Edward is a Cool enough character, but he is so malplaced within the story they are trying to tell. How his character is constantly undermining what is happening in the story stands out like a sore thumb.

The game really should have been a pure pirate game and not an ac.

Well its a good comparisson when it comes to the initial response to the games in the media.

But uncharted 1 was much better than uncharted 2 in my opinion.

2465d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

I remember the first uncharted getting a similar response.

People kept saying it was just a good slightly lesser version of gears. Which, in retrospect, is almost laughable.

Dont get me wrong. Gears is great fun, but it is also clearly the more generic of the two. It probably has better shooting mechanics, but Uncharted was a revolution of narrative in video games.

I havent played days gone yet, my preorder is late, so the jury is stil...

He is highlighting how culturally insensetive you are in your American-centric view of the world.

And it becomes besutifully ironic when you blatantly deny someone of a different cultural to be the same.

Many european countries have had public debates about the issue he presented and in many of them describing someone as Black has been deemed the worse offender.
Not negro or neger.

It could be argued it is one of the worst ac games on many level, but it is no doubt one of the most underrated ac games considering the reason it got criticized were often unrelated to the games design.

Most common reasoning for its low rating was bugs or that it was not Black flag.

Guidelines for voice chat exist despite esrb rating.

Don't get me wrong I also think censoring chat is pointless and stupid. The point is that it has been going on for a long long time. This is not news and not the political agenda this dumb article is making it out to be.

It is simply standard practice. Not something Ubisoft did to make some kind of stance on language.

This has happened in every game with text based chat since the start of auto censoring in mmos. This is not news or some dumb political agenda. Its just the limitation of autotranslate software.

it seems this might be more complicated than what this article alludes to.

The song in both works is appearantly traditional croatian folk singing. Those are usually not covered by copyright, as such things are usually considered fair use for every person. Just like some words can't be copyrighted. Traditional music is usually protected under the same umbrella. If that is true then both songs are technically covers of a traditional song and, at least to my untrained ear...

He doesn't have the rights to Zone of Enders. By leaving Konami the way he did, and starting a new developer. The only choice he really had, and probably the only one he wanted to do, was to work on something new.

"Nobody's pretending it's accessibility, the problem is that people are constantly lumping it in with that on both sides, and as such are even bashing legitimate accessibility features. "

Yes you are. As you yourself has pointed out. Accessibility for people with different challenges is a games industry problem. Not a Sekiro problem. So how on earth would having one game get an easy mode help that in any way. It is an extremely dishonest argument with no b...

I chose not to answer that because I never argued that it did. It is just a strawman argument.

I don't care about any bragging rights. I know there are a lot that bring that up, but it really has nothing to do with what I am talking about.

I am talking about how the game is designed to get a certain emotional response. The punishing nature of From Software games is one of the biggest part of that. It is literally the point of the games design. Removi...
