People complain when Microsoft pushed TV because it was during the console reveal, which gave the impression that was where their focus was, rather than gaming.
Sony's PStv is a separate, optional device from the PS4. This gives the impression that its not a primary focus, but rather a supplementary focus. Their primary focus is still gaming. Gamers didn't complain because its OK to focus on other things just as long as gaming is priority.

Some of the games you listed are not exclusives.
Everything can't be revolutionary or new, nor does it have to be in order to be good.
Is that the same thing you told yourself last gen when you didn't buy a backwards compatible ps3 because of its price? The reason there is no backwards compatibility is because people aren't willing to pay for it, simple as that. Sony tried it last gen and consumers didn't like the idea of paying for something extra.

Actually Sony was working on motion controls before Nintendo, they just didn't make in the primary focus of the console and focused other aspects (smart long term decision). Nintendo likely scrambled to incorporate motion controls into their console which is why they used a subpar means to implement motion controls which was why it was very inaccurate and required the wii motion plus to help (released three years later and still didn't make it as accurate as ...

So you've never played GoW 3 and you are complaining about it being remastered?
@ septic
Or anyone for that matter. I'm curious, what trends have Nintendo set? Besides rushing motion controls to market, I can't think of anything else.
I don't recall there being any widespread issues of other consoles scratching discs to hell. I guess every other console just never got moved, ever, even by accident. /s
For me its the Xbox 360. It had such a good start then fizzled out and became a shadow of its former self. In the beginning it had amazing games that I could not play elsewhere (awesome RPGs amongst other things). But then they stopped releasing a variety of games and stuck with Halo, Gears, Forza. Many of the games on the 360 were available on PS3 and PC... It didn't have many games that set itself a part. The last time I turned on my 360 was to play Gears of War 3 (Never got into Halo a...
The majority of Halo 5 sales will most likely be from people who already own or were already looking to get an Xbox One. I'm sure Sony will be fine considering the amount of other exclusives (and console exclusives) coming to the console. If you want to show concern, it'd be better directed towards the console that only has games coming out at the end of the year, not the console that has games release through out the year.
@ volkama
Thats my point, deals happen everywhere. PC games aren't universally cheaper than console games like people think. There are many variables that come into play.
@ BC Master Haze
So you are comparing recent pricing for console games to past sales of steam games? That does not seem fair. Steam has good sales, so do consoles... Its all a matter of timing. Its also a matter of how people have access to their games. I don't pay more than $48 for physical games on launch, and I can get any digital game on launch for either $25 or $35 by gamesharing on PS4. This is all without any sales that can make games even cheaper for me.

You forgot the fact that not every PC gamer has equipment that would meet the requirements to run games better than consoles, since PC games are not optimized and rely on brute strength of the GPU (for now). So those PC gamers are also holding PC gaming back since developers have to cater to an unknown amount of PC configurations. I'd reckon there are a lot of underwhelming PCs that developers want to cater to.
Can you build a decent rig for $400...
@ olddude
You want to talk about flat out lies?
- DRM cannot be just turned off like a switch.
- Kinect is an integral (necessary) part of the console.
- Kinect won't be unbundled.
- Kinect with have a strong focus in core games.
- Tomb Raider is an Xbox exclusive (withholding information is just as deceitfu as lying, they could have mentioned timed without disclosing a date)
The executives at Microsoft are...
@ cryofsilence
I guess it's a matter of perspective. What constitutes advanced hardware? Is it just being more powerful or being more efficient? PCs can be more poweful, IF you put enough money into them. But they are hardly as efficient as consoles for gaming, which is why they are not as optimized and require brute strength to get results.
So to me price is always relevant to this context because it speaks to how affordable, efficient, and optimized my ...

No matter how you slice it, the Xbox One is not going to get a 400% increase in power. So whether or not it's at the beginning or end of the console's life cycle, the cloud will not increase the Xbox Ones power that drastically. Any statement that insinuates such, is a lie, which was the point slaphappyjesus was trying to make. Must have wentered over your head, or you are just trying to split hairs.
It's over twice as powerful and probably cost about 3-4 times as much. Everything comes at a price.
@ foehammer
Xbox 360 sales were very good. But allow me to put things in perspective.
PS3 = 84 million in 8 years on the market (10.5 million per year)
Xbox 360 = 84 million in 9 years on the market (9.3 million per year)
How about both? Do you have this same perspective in life, where only one quality matters?
- Nah, I don't need a good paying job AND benefits, I'll just take one... don't want both.
- who needs a hot girl that's ALSO intelligent, when you can have a smart girl that looks like a mule.
- I'm sorry, are you trying to save me time AND money? You bastard.
I think you get the point. Hopefully.
I reckon people understand Nintendo's changes, they just don't agree with them. Gamers don't ostracize Nintendo, they do it themselves by alienating their console from the core gamer (started with the Wii, not getting 3rd party support and they have failed to get it back). Core gamers have made it clear what they want, Nintendo chooses to walk a different path. Its their prerogative, but its ours as consumers to not buy their product if it doesn't align with what we want.3968d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment
