Please link me to an article that confirms CoD:AW will use Microsoft's dedicated servers.

Except you are missing one important fact; if you want to own your games rather than licensing them you still have an option, buying the physical disc. So no, Sony is not heading in that direction as long as you have the option to buy physical media without restrictions. Sony never announced any plans to restrict physical media.
Microsoft on the other hand wanted to restrict physical media, by dictating what you can do with the physical disc purchased...

What does Sony being the only console have to do with developers creativity? Games will still be competing for our money. They will still have to make good games so people will buy their games versus the competition. The PS2 pretty much had a monopoly on gaming and that didn't stop developers from making a variety of awesome games. Some of my favorite games are from the PS1/PS2 era where Sony utterly dominated.

The same can be said for retail games. For every "truly good" game, dozens more are lackluster. Does that also mean retail games should disappear?

I know how it works, and I know what he was getting at. My point was that it works both ways. If you ASSUME a large piece of the pie is digital for xbox, the same can be said for PlayStation.
If I say that I know 12 people that got a physical copy at BestBuy for 20% off due to their gamers reward benefits (20% off any new game), does that triumph your 6 friends getting digital copies?
Also, why is it people think digital games are only purchased on Xbox? Do they not know digital games are also available on PlayStation (for longer than the competition)? Many PlayStation gamers got acclimated to digital games last gen when PSN started offering Day1 digitals a few y...

Reasons to buy a retail copy of Madden:
1) you don't subscribe to EA Access, so there is no savings
2) you like to own physical media
3) you like to trade/sell your games when you are done with them
4) your console does not have access to the internet
5) the game is a gift
I'm sure there are more.

Please stop with the "double standard" drivel. You said it yourself, the Wii was proclaimed to have no 3rd party support, nothing was hardly said of Indie support. They are different terms in the eyes of most gamers. 3rd party games are referred to games from major publishers (I.e. Activision, EA, Capcom, Konami, etc.). The Wii did not have much, if any, of their support through out its life cycle. There is no "double standard" in saying the ...

Your comment makes no sense at all. Sony has more big name developers than Microsoft, Sony has more AAA exclusives than Microsoft, Sony has better versions of multiplat games, and now Sony has more indie support than Microsoft. Sony is beating Microsoft on every game front... First party, 3rd party, FTP, and Indie.
How can you even mention Microsoft going after big name developers when the biggest news for Microsoft right now is them looking to buy Mi...
It makes perfect sense now, he didn't spend $500 on a console to play certain types of games, therefore those games should not be made available on his console of choice. I'm sure people would agree that their gaming experience should be determined by YOUR taste (or lack there of). /s
EDIT: This comment was for Death
Keep the tears flowing, all aboard the salt express. Don't be mad at N4g, they don't own Microsoft. Any good and/or bad news is a result of MS' own doing. It just so happens most of their doings have negative results.

First off, Ken Kutaragi never advised people to get a second job. His quote was "for consumers who think to themselves 'I will work more hours to buy one'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else." Work more hours does not equal a second job. Its funny when people speak of things they have no clue about, rather than researching themselves they just copy what other people assumed. If you don't understand the co...
Yes, it's another indie GAME (emphasis on the word game).
Yes, I'm going to list launch games, multiplats, and F2P games. They are still options PS4 gamers have. Your comment insinuated that PS4 gamers have only one option to choose from, Destiny, and that's false. Rest your case all you want, you are still wrong.
Yup, PS4 owners are definitely starving for FPS games to play. It's not like they can play Killzone: Shadowfall, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Blacklight: Retribution or any of the upcoming games like CoD: Advanced Warfare and Planetside 2. Oh wait...
You are right, Destiny is the only option. /s
How where the photos taken after launch when most of the stores were closed in the photos? It seems like they were taken before the stores opened, which is when people are usually lined up waiting to get a ticket to buy the product.
@ ilovetheplaystation
PS+ timed trials are for 1 in game hour. Last I checked an hour and a weekend are different. This is a nice feature that adds good value to XBL Gold. Just because something is not new does not mean it's not welcomed, especially when it's an improvement. Your comment was unnecessary.
This is completely different than PSNow. PSNow does not even require the console to play the games. Would you rather buy a console to try a game for a week, or would you rather rent it for a given amount of time without the need to buy the console?
Two different services.
EDIT: It seems people do not understand the concept of PSNow evident by a baseless comparison, and people agreeing with it LOL.
@ nicksetzer1
The better question? Will people, like you, ever realize console sales will help prevent the competition from using their wallets from preventing games from being released on their console of choice, even of its timed. You don't have to be a shareholder to benefit from your console of choice selling well. Do you think SquareEnix would have agreed to make Tomb Raider a timed exclusive if there were 30 million PS4 consoles in consumer's homes?
How is it like the PS3 situation last gen when the ONLY reason PS3 was behind in total sales was because it released a year later. The PS3 outsold the 360 worldwide pretty much every year which is why they were able to close the gap, then overtake them.
PS4 and Xbox One launched a month apart, pretty different scenario.
