Get rid of the games and the movie and that's effectively a $299 Ps3.

I'm going to say it now - another price drop is coming very soon.
After observing how the 1.2 year old Ps3 has been rapidly progressing in the midst of major competition from the Wii & xbox 360 and seeing the trends and action taken by Sony(including denials, denials, denials), the $299 Ps3 will easily be on the market within 6 months if not earlier.

Sony needs a large install base to buy the games....especially those AAA games we all know about.
But those pesky HD-only fans are still buying the Ps3. Dammit. Either go away or start buying and playing games.

But how much better it could have done if the ND managed give it sandbox gameplay, fully useable vehicles, MP/Coop online.
Fingers cross at least a few of these will come for Uncharted 2.
Konami should have taken the opportunity to revitalise the series with more realism.
Too much old school MG gameplay. After experiencing CoD4, RB6 and the Splinter Cell series, I want next gen not old school.
Bring on more realistic movement, physics, AI and gameplay. Realism is obviously the future for shooters/stealth combat games.
MGS5 maybe?????
Of course it won't be out this year - too much to do.
The developers will be planning something truly epic for GoW3 and the step up from the underpowered Ps2 to the monster that is the Black Beast is huge.
Least we forget the reputation the game has and expectations of the fans.
Late 2009 if we are lucky.
Now those damn HD-only fans will stop buying the Ps3 JUST for the player.
Ps3 owners need to be mainly gamers for better game sales for all those great game developers out there.
Guerilla Games is just baby developer relatively speaking compared experienced veteran developers like Insomniac, ND, Epic, Criterion, Free Radical etc.
Damn if only Sony had given the game to Insomniac or Naughty Dog to develop then KZ2 would likely have been out already and lauded as one of the best FPS ever....but that's only a dream.
Sony wont' release KZ2 unless it's ready - what with all time, money and the anticipation and expectations.
They don't need to release it this year as there are proven AAAs already scheduled.
And if it does get delayed, who cares, what with R2, MGS4, GT5, LBP, etc etc etc.
Nothing to do with taking a shot.
Let the truth speak for itself.
And if it is released earlier then that's just great news.
But the Ps3 needs a larger - mostly gamer - user base to get better games sales and make developers happier

the price will also likely to drop further in June
AND
the worldwide return of rumble - a must for a MG gamer.
It would be fun to use gestures but the fact is the XMB needs to be redone, simplified and a joy to use like the iPhone/iTouch.
The current XMB is too complex with its large nested levels.
A better menu system should have no more than 4 mouse or controller clicks to achieve a particular task (eg. from a PC point of view the first click options should be Application, File Manager, System, Favourites).
Then throw in the EyeToy and you have a real win...
So far but it's not over yet.
UT3 is clearly a better shooter than GeoW - although Epic made a huge mistake with no split screen - and it's a shame it's not getting the love it deserves.
It doesn't help with the glut of shooters last year including the greatest, CoD4.
Also, most shooter fans have become too use to the slower versions of the game rather than the hectic ludicrous pace of UT - of which only a select few can truly master.
The PS4 will be released when the xbox 720 is.
Sony won't make the same mistake with the Ps3 by giving a year head start.
Also Sony will learn from the Wii just to make an "evolved" or better version of the Ps3(improved Cell and GPU, more Ram & HDD space and improved controller) that will be cheap, cheap, CHEAP.
This PS4 will be fully backward compatible with the all the PS and developers will be able to easily programme for it after ...
but don't forget that it's a free MMOG not a dedicated shooter/stealth game so don't expect all the bells and whistles ... unless you're prepared to pay
Keep bringing out products and services to attract the casual gamers.
And of course, LOWER THE PRICE!!!!
If you build it they will come.
But Sony should also add alot of MMOG functionality like in Free Realm to HOME.
GG just aren't as talented and as skilled as Insomniac and Naughty Dog or even Epic and Infinity Ward.
But with Sony's assistance they'll become a First Class developer.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll be lucky to get KZ2 by Xmas. There's just too much to do in the face of all the great FPS competition.
