It is becoming ridiculous how much time, money and effort is being put into KZ2.
Clearly Guerilla Games just isn't as skilled, experienced and efficient as Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Incognito etc.
KZ2 should have been given to them to develop at half the price and time and likely better results.
I'm guessing it won't be ready for a release this year.

but so long as they get everything perfect kz2 should rock.

The sixaxis is a half hearted move towards the future.
The Wii-mote.....Play-mote....X-mo te.....whatever.
The next gens will inevitably copy Nintendo with improved versions of the Wii-mote:
* two controllers(one each for left and right hands)
* each controller with rumble and motion detection.
* each controller with an analogue stick
* at least one controller with a D Pad
* each controller with B1 &...
if the ps3 had no bluray it would have been a lot cheaper and would have been released at the same time as the xbox 360 in nov 2005..........and by now the 360 would have been a distant 3rd place with the Wii rapidly catching up on ps3 sales.

Clearly the visuals are great and am confident the developers will pass on their attention to detail to gameplay.........unlike that useless Factor 5(conspiracy).
you buy a next gen console for next gen games NOT for last gen games.
and if you have a library of ps2 games then you should have a ps2 as well...or else buy a new one, they're frickn cheap as.

Anyway, it is obvious bc will return as a firmware upgrade. But sony is still making massive profits from the ps2 so early ps3 adopters were lucky to get bc.
when ps2 hardware sales finally wane, then bc will come.

Sony should have developed and preinstalled its own fast,optimized distro of linux that had full access to the h/w - sony linux os.
it should have also included optimized versions of Openoffice, theGimp, inkscape, Scribus, nVu, Thunderbird & firefox so you have all your basic productivity needs.
The ps3 should have been a Pc alternative from the very start.

What is it with these British(Ninja Theory & Digi-guys) with their Cine graphics.
Yup, Digi will deliver on gameplay, I have no doubt now.
But here's hoping that Digi have learned completely from others that went before them -in particular Ninja Theory - to ensure that the gameplay is faultless, AI challenging, is long and has significant replay value(ie MP, Coop, online).
..would be a waste to spend so much on the graphics and mess up the gameplay. Those british guys and gals at Digi won't mess this up.

With Digis background in graphics this game should set a benchmark.

The CPU/GPU are still likely generating too much heat.
But if they aren't making that much heat then a 'laptop' sized Ps3 should be a achievable.
Just imagine a Vaio Ps3 Laptop with Sony Linux OS....just fantasizing here folks.
There'll be a likely price drop on the 40G ps3 and likely DS3 packaged deal with games/movies
Just keep your Ps2 for BC and upgrade the HDD if you want a premium model.

not bad for effectively a new - MODERN - franchise.
R2 should beat KZ2 on gameplay without a doubt. Insomniac has far more experience with great gameplay than Guerilla Games.
But the thing is KZ2 can easily be made a truly spectacular game even with average graphics:
* co-op
* split screen
* online MP
* useable buggy, tank, aircraft - ie. remember Warhawk
* devilish combatant AI.
* map creati...
A better version of Second Life or Sims or RPG that also doubles as a virtual meeting place for gamers to brag, chat and play.
Character Avatars from popular games should have been allowed...especially from games that Sony owns.
Also, users should have been allowed to purchase land to build their own homes/estates.
Also users should have been able to build or purchase shops to sell their own products from....virtual world. EBAY so to spec.

If you have 50 Ps2 games you WILL HAVE a ps2 already....BC is moot.
If you want to buy Ps2 games then buy a cheap as new Ps2. Jeez.
Sony is still making money with the Ps2 sales. We were lucky to get BC on the release machine.
FR wants to ensure a quality product on release and not something rushed just for the sales.....cough, cough Assassins Creed.
Haze won't be anything spectacular but it will be a solid and enjoyable shooter for sure.
Haze will still be an OK shooter, just won't be in the same league as R2.
But it should be a pleasant distraction until R2 releases at the end of the year and if we are lucky, KZ2.

Sony would have done better to spend half the current budget getting Incognito/Naughty Dog to make Kz2... and ... the rest of the budget approaching first class 3rd party developers like Infinity Ward, Epic, Insomniac to produce an exclusive NEW IP.
