But the xbox 360 has the Splinter Cell series. The stealth gameplay is more straight-forward and realistic than MGS.
I'm a Sony fanboy and I would choose SC over MGS any day....although I'd still end up buying MGS as it's still a great series.
The running in the game is pretty crap and old school - like everyone has something up their bums and in slowmo. They should have learned from GeoW, Assassins Creed and Uncharted on more fluid realistic motion animation.
But other than that should be a solid continuation of a great series.

Halo and all of Microsoft's great xbox games could have been written for the Ps2 and they would have made millions from them.
But oh no, that wasn't good enough for Microsoft. Billy Boy - well known for his company's monopolistic practises with Windows - chose to enter the game console industry.
Why? Think about that? It doesn't take a genius to figure out what Microsoft are up to.

That's the problem with the current Ps3 ownership base - too many non gamers who want the player but not the games.
And since 2008 is going to be the year for the Ps3 AAAs games......hmmmmmm?
So it's logical that Sony will be dropping the price at least US$100 this year as they realise they need the casual gamers/current Ps2 owners to come abo...
1. Reduce price
2. Have their own - better version - of the Wii-mote.
But Sony doesn't need to worry about the wii as most next gen owners will also have a wii and when the Ps3 becomes dirt cheap and has a huge library of games then the casual gamers will start buying it up by the boat loads and guess what? Those casual gamers will already have a Wii.
For the Ps3 to be competitive it needs a good price and therefore needs to reduce production costs faster.
But the Wii & Ps2 have shown the way to go: Price & gameplay/games.
Get the hearts of the casual gamer and you have yourself a guaranteed winner.

make a MUCH CHEAPER console with less REVOLUTIONARY technology with life cycle 5 years

That's how the wii has been so successful.
The xbox 360 has a hardcore gaming base mainly from North American with a particular taste in games. Games developed for it have a tilt...violence, action, mayhem, killing/destroying. It just doesn't have anything to compete against LBP and if it did, the xbox fanboys likely won't be interested as...

I've seen enough gameplay videos to see it has potential to be a very solid shooter.
It's good they're not rushing a flawed product onto the market like Ubi did with Assassins Creed.
So take your time Free Radical and get it right and fulfil our expectations by delivering a product to be proud of.

The big three need to unite and create a standard Gaming PC specifications that are fixed for 4-5 years - no expensive H/W upgrades. They would also need a standard GameOS.
A standardized Gaming System will allow H/W manufacturers to compete with each other to make their own versions of the game console. Games developers will also have a fixed H/W specifications to work with and will optimize the coding of their games for that H/W over the next 4-5 years.

That's what would have happened if the Ps3 had no Blu-ray.
The Ps3 would have been release at the say time as the xbox 360 and would have cost as much if not cheaper than the 360.
No one year head start for the 360. Think about that one.
Focus on the xbox 720 for release in 2-3 years.
Here are the things:
* Wii dominates consoles sales for at least the next 2 years due to its appeal to casual gamers.

KZ2 & MGS4 are going to be great exclusive games for the Ps3 just like 360 has Gears & Halo.

The 360 is going to be beaten this year on the volume and quality of games coming out for the Ps3 this year - although the games sales may not be that great due to the pickiness of the current Ps3 owners base.
