The delay is a good thing because they have identified problems that need to be fixed and/or just not satisfied with what they have. Sony wants to get this right first time.

Updates and future games should allow users to switch to motion-control/sixaxis for AIMING & LOOKING - instead of using the right analogue stick traditionally.
Then the xbox 360 could make a conventional controller with motion control added instead of developing a totally new controller.
Better still, games should fully allow configuration of the controller for a game so you can set it up to use with one hand mostly + motion control for aiming.

the 360 has a great library of games and some good ones coming but it just doesn't have anything that will attract new buyers of the console.
Yes, the current owners will buy the GeoW2 and other great games by the boat load but it just doesn't have the new ips to attract new buyers of the console. the 360 bit hitters have already come and gone, the ps3 big hitters are still coming.
Everything will undoubtedly be better and the fans will buy to their hearts delight as with Halo3.
I just wish Insomniac had made Nathan Hale more Gung Ho like Marcus and provided a cover system and proper sprint option, then R2 would clean up.
But I'll enjoy both when they come.
For that size screen, the PsP2 should double as a screen and controller for the Ps3.
Otherwise, the idea should only have merits with 14"+ LCD clip on screen.
I don't care if they have fake teams and players, this games wastes madden in terms of realistic gameplay.

And if it was true in any way, the new controller would likely come package with a specific game as an teaser for console owners to switch. That's what I'd do anyway.
As for Pseye, it will have a place in the future but unlikely as the main controller. Did someone say rumble? How do you do that with a Pseye? Hmmmmmmmmmm...?

A Wii-mote controller does not mean casual only games. It's only a controller.
CoD4, Halo3, Resident Evil, NG2, MGS4, GTA4, R2, GeoW2, Gow2 etc can all be written to fully utilized the features of a Wii-mote-like CONTROLLER....C.O.N.T.R.O.L.L. E.R....if it was available for the xbox360 or Ps3.

The Wii is a casual gamers console and has implemented motion control ideally with it's Wii-mote. The ignorant conclude that the wii-mote equates to casual gaming and kiddie games.
But the informed gamers knows that the wii-mote is ** FIRST AND FOREMOST ** a controller.
Developers will design games to utilized the benefits of the controller. Just imagine how Epic, Infinity Ward, Valve, Incognito, Insomniac, etc would...
