And I love how previewers point out the one flaw of the game being that the computer doesn't put up much of a fight. The demo is the first two levels of the game. I am 100% sure, in true Halo fashion, the difficulty and AI of the computer opponent will ramp up considerably as you progress through the campaign.
I wasn't prepared for this game to be good. My wallet is going to hurt more than I expected this March.
a) The fact that they're closing down so many studios means there is even less of a chance that Mass Effect 2 comes to the PS3. Porting games to the PS3 from the X360 requires almost a whole studio and is expensive. You have to recode everything from top to bottom. less EA studios = less ports.
b) EA ported the Orange Box to the PS3 and lost their shirt. Notice that they didn't port Left 4 Dead to the PS3 after? Valve said themselves that they don't have the resources to port it ...
but you're not a journalist for Newsweek.
No Mass Effect 2 for you!
it's the twitter feed of a respected journalist who was actually involved in the question and answer section of the conference call. that's why I approved this article.
this came out during the question and answer section which Edge online didn't wait around before publishing their article.
I have a friend who is a huge GTA4 fan and only owns a PS3. Anyway, he was CONVINCED for the longest time that the new GTA4 DLC is coming out on the PS3 because he read it on some PS3 blog that perpetrates misinformation much like N4G. I don't know what these Sony fanboys are trying to accomplish by making up stuff. My friend is just going to trade in his PS3 for a 360 to get the DLC. He's a pretty big GTA fanboy.
But, yeah whatever, an EA exec says that Mass Effect is coming out...
the original mass effect was on the multiple platforms. it was on the PC and Xbox 360. this is really just edge magazine trying to get hits.
These execs don't think like fanboys. A platform is anything they can sell their product on. The term multiplatform is just game geek slang/jargon for a game appearing on multiple consoles. I'm glad he slipped that up though because now EA will have to either confirm or deny this rumor and finally get this over with
that Star Ocean 4 is a much bigger title than any that have been released before.
true, that the Japanese market has been sluggish but you want to know the highest selling JRPG worldwide on a HD console this generation?
Lost Odyssey. It's sales are approaching one million worldwide.
JRPGs will be successful on the X360 regardless of the sluggishness of its sales in Japan. Square-Ennix isn't dumb. they saw the success of LO on the X360 worldwide and decided that the X360 is the console of choice for most of their exclusive titles.
360 gets exclusive, quality JRPGs. The Japanese are interested. It's really a cumulative thing: Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Last Remnant, Inifinte Undiscovery, and Star Ocean 4. This might be the title that pushes the X360 to relevance in the Japanese market.
Epic kind of dropped the ball with the Gears 2 commercial but it's still a pretty decent commercial. It just doesn't look so hot compared to Mad World.
Uhh, maybe you misread. they're listing off GOOD commercials. That PS commercial is mad corny.
Fat guy on couch stuffing cheez-doodles in his mouth:
"I've conquered legions."
"STFU. No, you haven't. You live in your parent's basement and you haven't been laid since 1989. PSone, anyone?"
Best video game commercial ever.
I wasn't going to get all desperate and list the titles most people don't care about or were complete shovelware. I mean, Singstar vol 1 to infinity each counting as seperate games? lol Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty was a PSN game. Should I list all the Xbox live arcade titles, too? Also, GT prologue came out in 2007 not 2008. Lastly, many of those titles only came out in Japan.
Sigh. More 360 exclusives part 2 (the games no one cares about):

The Xbox 360 had more exclusive titles than the PS3 in 2008 so how are they not spending money on exclusive titles. All the exclusive DLC is just icing on the cake. Let's look at the 2008:
360 exclusives
Banjo
Fable 2
Gears 2
Tales of Vesperia
Lost Odyssey
Too Human
Ninja Gaiden 2
Infinite Undiscovery
Viva pinata
Left 4 Dead
PS3:
MGS4
LBP
Resistance 2

They sold less PS3s during the 2008 holiday season than they did in 2007 while Microsoft sold more. Sony is posting it's first yearly loss in 18 years. People can talk, talk, talk but numbers are numbers.
@Gwave
It's a difference of business strategy. MS tends to pay other established studios to create exclusive games and publishes the titles while Sony buys the studios outright more often. Both companies do a combination of both. MGS4 was not produced by a Sony owne...
I've learned not to take Sony fanboys seriously. They still don't realize that at the start of 2008 the X360 had a 6 million console lead and right now it has almost an 8 million console lead according to Microsoft's numbers, Sony's numbers, NPD's numbers, and every other major tracking source out there. To them that is all all some sort of imaginary conspiracy fantasy gibberish. They're clearly delusional.
Personally, I think most of them don't really like the PS3 they just REAL...
Sony is trying to match what Halo did eight years ago for console shooters and Halo has already moved on to breaking new ground for RTS' on consoles.
