you're correct, I don't own the game. If I ever do, it will be 6 months, to a year down the road when I can pay less than half of full price, and play the game without any bugs, performance issues, and all the content they will release that people will pay for.

This is the case for all games now. Some to a greater degree than others. You're speaking to someone who started gaming in arcades, and on atari. I miss the days when games came out, and worked. No pat...

translation: A week or two after a hyped games initial release, we have finally made it playable.

Wow! You guys are way to gullible. If you believe that software of any kind will give anything a 3-400% performance boost, you are sadly mistaken. It amazes me how quick people accept things as fact.

Wait until DX12 comes out. You will see improvements on pc for sure, and likely minor bumps in improvement on x1. But to believe your pc, or xbox will run a game 3-400% better is total rubbish.

This generation can't help it. Nintendo groomed them with pokemon. "Gotta catch them all", have to get the red/blue, diamond/pearl version, etc. They've been trained to want the latest thing, and buy 2 or more versions of it since they can remember.

To everyone who doesn't fall in to that group, hey they're fans who like the game. Can't hate them for that.

Mantle benefits nvidia cards as well. Check your facts.

Naughty Dogs creative director is working with visceral, to create an open world star wars game... Now that sounds interesting.

As far as battlefront goes, I see it being similar to the launch of battlefield 3. Were Bf2 fans were mostly dissappointed, and people willing to accept it as a new entry were pleased with it. Just know Battlefront will likely remain for the most part the franchise we know and love. But I would be willing to imagine Dice will put their own spin o...

Horribly written. This should not have been approved.

"most people aren't running 4k"

That's true. But some are, and it being time for tax returns in America, many more soon will be.

Don't remark about things you don't or can't have, to belittle those that do have. GTA V coming out in native 4k is a big deal. Not many games support it out of the box.

Hard to get a 50% increase through a software update.

http://www.tomshardware.com...

But as you can see, it can be a pretty significant increase in performance. Which in my book is a plus all the way around. If dx12 can do better, I'm all for it.

Quit hating on claims engineers, and marketing people make, and just be happy. if you...

@ outthink

You ask why quad core+ pc's will receive a significant boost in cpu performance, but the Xbox one won't.

The answer is quite simple. Applications like mantle, and sdk's for the Xbox one, and ps4 bring developers very close to the hardware. A hardware that never changes. So as they work with that hardware more and more, and the sdk's get updated and improved, they find workarounds, and in a way shortcuts that produce significantly...

If you want to pay full retail for a 1 1/2 year old game, that's your deal. I'm not here to criticize you or how you spend your money. Just simply stating how I feel about it.

I was excited as most for this to finally come to PC. I waited over a year before I broke down and got it on 360. That being said j don't think its worth even $59.99. New or not, the game is working torwards two years old. If they wanted full retail price for the game, they should've released it when it was actually a new game. As stands now I will wait for a steam sale to get it for $20, which likely won't be terribly long.

I'm playing this right now. Pc to my 42in tv on ultra with a 360 controller. Looks like the ps4 isn't to far off. Either way a fun game.

Game announced, DLC announced before games release. Outrage over finished DLC before game release, and DLC price ensues. Game gets released, people buy game, people pay for DLC. Developers continue the process on their next game.

If people stop paying for these games, and/or the DLC, the whole thing will stop. But you will never get people to stop, their like sheep.

no its not confirmed, but look at microsofts proven history. They are out to sell OS's as that's what makes them the majority of their money.

Dx9 win xp or higher
Dx10 win vista or higher
Dx11 win 7 or higher
Dx11.1 win 8 or higher
Dx11.2 win 8.1 or higher

They use directx to sell their newest OS to pc gamers. So its not hard to reason they will continue this scheme, as it works.

Mantle achieves its benefits by offering the following benefits over DirectX 11:

Low validation and processing of API commands
Explicit command buffer control
Close to linear performance scaling from recording command buffers onto multiple CPU cores
Reduced runtime shader compilation overhead
