wholeheartedly agree alexious. I shouldn't buy a top end graphics card of the time, then worry a few weeks later if I can even play a game. I have a 7950 w/boost. That card should meet minimums on games for years to come, yet its already borderline on some of these newer games.
It used to be with adjustments that you could have a truely ancient card, and still get away with playing games on min settings. Now it seems devs dont care to optimize their games at all, on...
Agreed. I just bought it a few weeks back for $20 on PC. I don't understand why so many people hate it, or complain about it. It's a great shooter, great mechanics, good graphics, and a decent progression system. It's not groundbreaking, and it can get old, but can't the same be said about almost any fps online game?
Dead space ftw! By far the best use of (non existent) hud in a game. Really added to the immersion.
Makes sense... Batman arkham origins PC- $10.89, PC download-$49.99.
Smh
Interesring. I was unaware. Still buy stuff on steam if I can though.
far cry 3... on origin? Did I miss something?
I miss the days before AMD bought ATI. Back Then it was a real back and forth struggle for superiority between Nvidia and ATI. But since AMD bought them out, the cards seem to be one step behind in one aspect or another (driver support for example).
@pygmelionhunter
I was thinking the same thing. they are literally taking shots at each other over, 2 fps here, 3 fps there. The game looks great on both consoles. It also seems to preform great on both. Seems like the deciding factor is personal preference to me.
All games come out broken day 1 now. Not just PC. I could name a handful of games over the last few months that have come out broken on all platforms. You buy a game day 1 now, this is more often than not what you get.
less about optimization, and more about what sdk they're using to make the game. Ubi has switched to nvidia's gameworks to make games. This of course should give nvidia a natural advantage. But using gameworks, over mantle, and other like programs to make games has shown that nvidia cards will preform practically flawlessly, while amd cards are almost unusable. All but the highest end cards are rendered worthless through gameworks.
Of course Nvidia claims they ha...
I wasn't a huge fan of fc2 mostly because once you clear out a check point, and come back 10 mins later, all the guys are back shooting at you. That and some of the bugs that it had bothered me, but have long since been patched.
I still have it, maybe i should go back and reinstall and replay it and see if my opinion changes.
Every game now has issues at launch these days. Just funny so many people would run out and buy it day one after looking at ubi's track record as of lately.
Ohh well the same people that ran out and bought watch dogs, and ac unity day one probably bought this, and will be on here complaining about it. When will people learn?
What's the point in handing ms more money every time they come out with a new product? What does windows 8 offer over 7 that you absolutely have, to have? And what will windows 10 offer over 8 that makes it a must buy?
My point is that directx whatever is their only incentive for PC gamers to upgrade. And directx 11 is just starting to become a PC gaming standard now. The only directx 11.1/2 game I'm aware of (windows 8's big thing) is battlefield 4. Now th...
I have 7, and don't have Dx12 video card... So I will wait for win 14 and get a new video card with it. Microsoft seems to think they offer something special with each new windows release. They don't. Dx12 games likely won't be mainstream for a few years anyways. By then dx13.1 will likely be out, and so the cycle will continue.
Last time I checked, the current consoles run amd apu's... Just sayin.
@Logical
He said he was getting a "solid frame rate". He did neglect to mention what the frame rate was.
He does however seem to be very happy with his solid 15fps, unless hes running some sort of supercomputer.
I'm primarily a pc gamer, and have a computer with similar specs. I wont even bother getting it when the minimum requirements are so high, and the recommended are that outrageous. Ubi seems to think that they've created ...
Minimum requirements for this game on pc are nvidia 680, or amd 7970. Thats absolutely ridiculous!
Agreed Big_Boss88. I no longer buy any games at launch, as developers seem to push them out the door, with promises of fixing them "eventually". I now wait until eventually comes, be it a month, or a year.
I've said the same thing for years about ea. I bought far cry 3 for PC through steam last year. I had to lower the settings dramatically to get it to run at consistent frame rates. I had the same problem with far cry 2. Mind you my PC isn't a $4000 beast, but it's mid to high end setup. I saw people complaining about other ubisoft games for PC, and have done the same thing I do with ea... I don't buy their games.
People need to learn when you want a game ...
while I agree I would like to see games push higher end systems, you obviously dont understand optimization. This game does nothing groundbreaking I've seen. So to demand these kind of requirements is ludicrous.
Example arma3 sys requirements:
System Requirements
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1
Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce ...
