I'm convinced many people are turned away from PC's for the fallowing reason.

Gamer A is unhappy, because his PC can only achieve good graphics, while other PC's can achieve great graphics. He is unhappy because other people have better graphics.

Gamer B is happy, because his console can achieve mediocre graphics, while other consoles achieve the same mediocre graphics. He is happy because he has the same graphics as everyone else.

Very similar to a ps...

Reminds me of the computer game loser insult, "just uninstall."

Jaffe my friend, just delete your account, it's for the best.

... and the only way to receive compensation for a theme is to charge for it? Obviously not.

Consider the people who worked hard to implement in-game XMB which was free. Did they go uncompensated?

Consider the open source market. Someone works hard on a program, releases it free to download, free to copy, free to redistribute, even free for me to burn to some CDs and sell copies on the street corner (and legal). Did the open source innovator go without compensati...

Free PSN = Great.

Paid PSN = Great.

Why do you want to pay again? Paying will not make the PSN any better.

I enjoyed the euro-gamer review, especially the part about how the game makes you fearful of dying.

I've never really played a dungeon crawler, and playing a genre after a long break is always a great experience.

a PC gamer buys a [legal and legit] 6 month old game for 20$.

Behind him in line is a console gamer buying the same game for 60$, and eager to get home and buy some DLC.

Later on...

The PC gamer is fighting with draconian DRM.
The console gamers is saying "I should have just rented this."

1) Those with PC's and new GPU's who play with the best graphics.
2) Those with PC's and old GPU's who play with good graphics.
3) Those with consoles who play with good graphics.

Most people join group 3 to avoid being in group 2...

RFG was great, but it could have been so much more.

I'm looking forward to a sequel that fills in the gaps.

I want a better story.
I want large building to destroy.
I want the building to be made of metal instead of paper-mache.
I want less time spent driving around and more time shooting.

nVidia has a new idea? They make a new GPU, and the PC group buys it up, even if it is 500$.

nVidia take the money, develops new ideas, and 6 months later has a better GPU. The PC group buys the new GPU yet again. Every 6 months we get a new GPU.

BUT without the PC group.

nVidia has a new idea? They wait 6 years and put it in a console. Soon, they're ready to make improvements, so they wait another 6 years and put it in the next console. Every 6 ye...

I have the right to speak my opinion in my room, and into my mic. Sony has the right to speak silence if they decide. That is, Sony can choose not to broadcast my communications on their private network.

The gamer has every right to create his own online community and gaming service and then say whatever he pleases.

Although I despise such conspiracies, if Hulu wants to side with MS and drop support of flash, then I'll find another service.

As the saying goes:

"I'll keep my money, you keep your product, and we'll see who loses at the end of the day."

A 1080p signal doesn't not take 10 gig per sec to display. Although HDMI 1.3 and higher are capable of transferring that much data, that doesn't mean they always do.

We see complaints of throttling PSN and XBLA traffic, and these are small optimized packets. Imagine the urge ISP's will face to block a streaming HD video.

Also, lets all remember a HDMI connection carriers over 10 gigs a second, so all those still in the stone-age with less than 10 gigs per second of bandwidth will be better off playing it on their local computer.

With PS2 emulators reaching maturity on PC's that are less powerful than the PS3, it's going to be a real embarrassment for Sony if a bunch of hackers can put together a better emulator than they can for their own platform.

A great site for the aspiring programmer. I will watch this series, but right now I'm studying python for a scripting role I need to fill.

I've recently discovered the secrete to becoming a great programmer (not that I am one yet), read the documentation.
