Texture resolution there is lovely. The parallax mapping on rubble, floors and on bricks is superb. Show me a console game with as many 1024 x 1024 textures (and higher) as this.
It doesn't exist. Most everything including Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3, Gears 3 etc utilise just basic 512 x 512 maps mainly because they do not have the texels or memory to do more realistically in games.
Certainly there is no console game that worries this too much especially w...
I picked up a brand new Core i3 Medion on sale with a GTX460M for a pitiful 380 pounds about a year ago....This thing manages 1900 in 3Dmark 11. Thats not lightning fast, but it'll easily play anything on the upper range of settings. It was my bargain of 2011.
Could world peace be announced at gamescon?
I have the PC versions of the F1 games, Dirt and original GRID. They run well on fairly reasonable specs. Like no problem maxing 1080p and DX11 on the new games with a lower midrange card like a Radeon 6850.
TBH they all whup the arse of the console versions especially the newer games obviously like F1 2011 and Dirt 3.
I wouldn't expect any less from GRID 2. I expect a bigger gap.
Usually at least one launch title from a next generation machine has standout graphics that put everything from the previous generation in the shade.
Thats just launch titles. Once the developers get going, within about a year we have a game that is plainly amazing looking and anyone that says anything from the previous generation stands up to it is probably half blind and drunk.
PGR3 trounced everything from xbox and PS2. When early shots were shown of it, p...
You say quick but i have been studying Wii U games and footage and shots for month after month. Thats not quick. Thats measured. I was the one after seeing the early footage waiting, patiently to see more before a genuine assessment of the performance of Nintendo's next contender. I said wait and see, until we get more realtime stuff and footage instead of some dodgy Zelda tech demo.
Most specifically, games, footage and shots that are now claimed to be definitely on Wii ...
All that matters Hisiru is that FIFA 13 on Wii U is not worth buying if you have access to another platform with the 'complete' version and full feature set of FIFA 13. Mildly tweaked graphics don't make up for missing key features and improvements.
I already pointed out that PS3 and 360 were a significant leap over the previous generation. I also pointed out below why it is damn obvious to everyone but the mostly blind Nintendo lover that Wii U is clearly not tha...
Oh sigh Hisiru.....please don't be a Nintendo Fanboy. It has become clearer and clearer Wii U is not much faster than the current generation. This is just one more game that comes along and demonstrates that.
Minor improvements to the crowd and pitch textures do not a significant performance leap make. Minor improvements to Batman AC or ME3. Footage of Nintendo games mere months from completion, other games in the same situation.
It is BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS ...
Of course i do, but the Wii U is not 'next gen' hardware in the same way Xbox 360 was 'next gen' hardware. Isn't that now extremely clear with the talk of just minor visual improvements from the Wii U version...? Clearly you aren't thinking very well today. Engage brain?
Wii U's hardware is most likely similar to Xbox 360, in terms of concept and performance. We aren't talking about building a brand new engine here, a massive overhaul for a tot...
I expected them to make the gameplay match, rather than wasting time on mildly improving the visuals- time that should be spent on matching up the gameplay because if there is no significant leap as is now all but confirmed, at least make it up to date with the latest versions.
Give it another year and new consoles will be out or certainly coming around with a new version of FIFA on them. Then you'll find that Wii U will be probably be miles behind visually again anyway.....
The graphics are mildly better but many FIFA 13 gameplay enhancements are missing?? No first touch or curved runs? :-( Pffffffffff
Ridge Vita was cack, as a huge huge fan of the series (RRT4 is still the boss), even i will admit it was awful and the visuals are not better than this. Bit of a sully on the name.
GT vita would be extremely exciting if it exists. However Real Racing 2 was a quality game and this looks to be a pretty significant step up.
I do just wish though that tablet and phone manufacturers consider clever ways to add console like controls to their devices. I don't kn...
Confirmed GT6 in 2017 :D can't wait lol
Seriously though guys get some more staff and get this game built quicker than the last. I want more than 1 GT game a generation, 2 is the sweetspot IMO.
One early on and one nearer the end of a machine's life. GT3 + GT4 were perfectly timed.
We don't actually know the platform for sure GamerSciz if you read the interview elsewhere....he is asked the platform. He does not confirm. Maybe we w...
It isn't a silly analogy. Andibandit has a good one really. So you have a world class weightlifter but you need a sprinter. You can retrain him all you like but he'll probably never be a top sprinter.
PS3 is difficult to work with, with an awkward architecture that didn't really work out. 360 might have less theoretical performance, but it is more flexible.
There is always a limit to what you can achieve by relearning ways to program a machine- as...
As per usual Nvidia look to come good in the midrange segment, really good. Fantastic news for the consumer. The Ti will force down prices and bring superb performance for $299 if these reports are accurate
Its an interesting little slide. Lots of questions marks over hardware. Seems fairly realistic. If it is just faked then its a decent fake and pretty believable. Written by someone who knows a fair bit and didn't get carried away with preposterous speculation.
For example base system power draw aimed for 120 watts with a claimed target of 8x performance on 28nm- that is achievable and somewhere in the ballpark of what you would expect.
128bit bus with upcoming DDR4 would be plenty of bandwidth for any CPU. You would have to assume that the design is an incredibly similar concept to the existing Xbox 360, with the EDRAM having fairly good bandwidth to the GPU and fantastic internal bandwidth if the dies happen to be split between logic and memory again.
Essentially this design would be a near identical concept that developers have worked with inside 360 for years, but with everything turned up. More CPU core...
To be fair, a GTX670 is ten times as fast. UE4 ran on the GTX680 as well, not the 690. It was also pointed out even the next generation consoles aren't likely to be 24 times as fast. It was just the highest end example, to show how far GPU technology has advanced.
Performance doubles roughly every 18 months and of course the price per gigaflop tumbles dramatically each distinct generation of GPU. Ten years ago that $1000 5.6 Teraflop Nvidia video card would qualify by its...
It wouldn't be called Heavy Rain 2 anyway.
Maybe 'light drizzle' or 'flash shower'
