The point of ARMA is that is a heavy duty sim. If you need your shooters less complex you are well catered for let face it, so let ARMA do its own thing.
Isn't it kinda worse it wasn't anonymous though?
I mean if it were a one off isolated coordinated attack at protest of the rumours of an always online console, then that's one thing, but surely if it is just a simple error that brought the whole thing down with no outside help actually a worse thing in terms of PR for an always online machine???
As in, yeah even without outside influence you'll STILL have to face outages at one time or another...
Well....you just obviously can't read coolbeans. I can't be bothered to explain why you were wrong in nearly everything you said, just point out that you claimed I said Halo 2 was somehow 'hype' for Microsoft's next console (Xbox 360) when I didn't say anything remotely like that. I just said that it was pretty sucky that you couldn't finish the story on the same platform it started, probably because Halo 2 didn't round off the story properly!
...
I think you are plainly mistaken if you believe my criticism of the game was based solely on the knowledge that the developer rushed the game.
You need to read my first comment again properly.
I clearly started out pointing out that I believed the campaign was inferior to Halo's and a let down.
Then I went on to explain one of the reasons why the overall quality was lower than Halo. I (and many of the developers) believe that to be so- i....
You don't think anyone would have questioned why the campaign ended so abruptly akin to a car crash?
Then obviously you don't think of enough questions. Immediately after the campaign ended my thoughts instantly turned to: Why?
Knowing what I know and how the developers themselves admitted post production that the game wasn't given nearly the polish or time they would like just reinforces that feeling of incompleteness and in fact justifies my poi...
RAM is RAM is RAM.
Memory bandwidth is what the actual advantage would be.
Microsoft do have time to change their memory plans, it is one thing that can be altered although it still would take many months of redesign, but that is fast relative to redesigning their main processor which is probably also an APU and would take at least 9 months to change in a perfect scenario.
No, if Microsoft have chosen a slower GPU and paired it with DDR3, cha...
Halo 2 was a huge letdown RE: campaign!
It went from a game that was campaign focused and amazing because of it (Halo), to a game that was purposely forced into the online arena by Microsoft to promote the early days of their Xbox Live service. This was at the huge detriment of a short rushed campaign that was a let down.
Bungie themselves scrapped the graphics engine, then the campaign they had designed and had to start over, but had no time to finish what t...
It'll take developers a while to figure out any quirks of the hardware, much like any consoles. You will get better squeezing out performance a couple years down the line.
It is a gradual process and it won't produce miracles of performance leaps, just progressive evolution over the life of the machine.
Sony and Microsoft are fighting to distinguish themselves in a difficult competitive market.
The BEST way to do this is always your g...
Mario has his bitch fruit Peach kidnapped, and has to go around the "kingdom" (city) with his magical happy slappiness wand (aka baseball bat) beating the living coins out of everything that moves.
Once he gets to the final boss he finds out it is in fact his evil brother Luigi who betrayed him, then he defeats Luigi in a head to head match of Mario death racing (drive by shootings in a kart.)
Unfortunately Peach is lost anyway, because she is in an...
I gave up on the TW games ages ago because EA just don't deliver the complete game on the disc. They leave out half the courses and gear to flog you at ridiculous premiums on day one.
Seriously if they added courses like a couple a month after launch maybe it would be worth it but you get the game and already there are like 10 courses you can buy online that cost like 5 quid each FFS.
TW games are super bad ripoffs.
Oh I loved TW 2004 so ...
Lulz I know.
Someone approve that story on the tech site where Sony say they like their new range of Bravias and they are impressed with themselves.
Worthy news indeed.
What does it matter if I just highlighted some old "classic" games? Old and new. Someone directly compared PS3's games catalogue with what games you can play on PC. Hence my replies.
That is an open invitation to point out that PC's back catalogue (and future) is superior to all comers.
If you had to choose one platform to play on for all the rest of your life and only one, PC is the shoe in no brainer. because of the huge quantity of games ...
This PC is designed to run unoptimised pre alpha code with less than optimised driver revisions at some uber resolutions to impress everybody as much as possible. To that end, it needs to be an absolute beast.
The game won't need this sort of machine to run well, because nobody designs even PC games that won't run well on a decent array of current machines.
The game will no doubt take advantage of high end gear, but considering that Battlefield 3 was ...
Sony must lead by example then :)
Nvidia's markets are more desktop parts with OEMs and they have grown because of their mobile penetration and workstation business. Not to mention Nvidia landing major supercomputer contracts for hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Teslas at a time. http://www.anandtech.com/sh... Like this recently for example.
But anyway, more about the console...
Nvidia is a very profitable company with cash reserves, AMD is a company teetering on major debt and struggling to find revenues against harsh competition from Intel and Nvidia.
Nvidia record profit and growth year on year: http://www.bit-tech.net/new...
Of course emulation. But what's your point? You have none.
They still play just fine on a modern PC, including the entire back catalogue of games designed for PC for decades.
PC has the greatest back catalogue in history. Chances are it can play your favourite game from the past 40 years.
It can't emulate PS3 yet but neither can PS4...a failing of consoles again with poor legacy support.
PS3 simply can't compete w...
30FPS good, 60FPS better.
Shiny graphics good, Shinier graphics better.
Take your pick, one or the other. The developers will really chose, and most of them will chose 30FPS and shinier graphics.
Really that's just the end.
The GPU is integrated on the same chip as the CPU and the memory controllers etc.
When you design a GPU + CPU + memory controller etc to fit on one die, you design it to be as small as possible and have everything fit on the chip as neatly as possible a bit like Tetris or a block puzzle. But a million times harder. It needs to take up as little die space as possible, without large areas of nothing which would be waste.
You wanna fit as many complete chips on ...
Actually may as well reverse that and say you may as well just play every multi plat game on PC, all its exclusives as well, and just play exclusives on the consoles. This is what I have nearly always done and consider it the very best way to game.
PS4 will only probably end up a $500 machine for a decent spec one with a good sized HDD. I can and have built a PC that will be able to play multis for a bit more than that already, so I already own it.
The fact I...
