Its a stupid claim. Intel are/were primarily known as a CPU company, same as AMD, before AMD bought Ati.
Intel aim to deliver the best CPU performance they could and stayed out of the discrete game, providing graphics that are merely only good enough for the machine to function and play video etc.
This is ALL the vast majority of PC consumers actually wanted. Why would Intel force up the cost of their parts for better graphics all those years when that isn...
They are doing 4Gb versions.
It appears the reference boards for both GTX 770 and 780 use the titan coolers. PNY showed off the boards, but they ARE still Nvidia branded at this point suggesting the coolers are actually stock items
GTX770 does indeed look like a good buy at that price, slightly faster than the GTX680, with better thermals and cooler for the retail of a current GTX670? Very nice.
Sounding like a stealth troll coolmast3r.
Name some multi plats that will play better on PC?
Probably most of them on a GTX670. GTX670 is a powerful card and will likely deal with any multi format releases without problems.
PS4 is considerably slower compared to a good card like a GTX670 than say Xbox 360 was to a 7800GT.
Buy a PS4 for the exclusives when it gets them, but I can't imagine that multiplatform games on PS4 w...
The joy of six? :D
The current game is using 3GB of memory for video and 1.7Gb for System/Shared. It is using 4.7Gb total. Obviously this build is not running on a machine where they think it only had 4Gb of memory, minus OS.
That hype that the demo only used 1.5Gb of memory....hmmmm.
We don't know what the OS overhead is at the moment either.
It is an early stage for development tools for the machine which would improve performance. Shadow fall will probab...
There is a lot more polygons being thrown around in Metro than there was in the shadow fall demo and on the characters.
The metro shot where there are multiple, super high res characters all together versus parts of that killzone shadow fall demo that were not actually under the control of the player at the time.
Metro is just all rubble and organic, there is a massive amount of polygons and differing textures tossed to make that look good and authentic. Shad...
Metro: Last Light is probably the best looking game I have ever seen.
I am yet to see anything from the PS4 footage we have been shown so far that matches it. Its either that or Crysis 3 but Metro does run pretty decent on less than killer machines.
Sure enough you need a good machine to max it, but not like a Titan or anything that mad to get 1080p at those settings. A Geforce 660 does the trick!
Killzone Shadow fall can only get better in t...
Tegra's market has grown FIFTY PERCENT over the last year.
Nvidia's revenue is over half a billion dollars a year on Tegra alone, yet that is still peanuts compared to the rest of the company and the future potential growth of Tegra markets. In fact it took Nvidia 9 years just to make that much from console chip royalties and they were tossed out because they were getting too much for Sony's liking!
So you are badly mistaken dcbronco.
Low end gaming is having the game just run playable in 720p. I.e practically minimum settings. Something like a HD 4000 can actually run a considerable number of modern games in said HD resolution.
This was beyond stuff like GMA4500 5 years ago running the comparative modern titles of the time.
Kurylo3D, as for claiming your laptop ran Crysis on high in 2008.....sure it did. If you ran it in 720P and had a 9800M GT which would have been in a $1500+ laptop rig...
Yeah if they keep recording big profits and growth they'll be in trouble. Lol.
Nvidia are doing lotsa interesting things. Tegra and Tesla say hi.
The low end market is dead for discrete graphics, because the capability of IGPs has grown massively in the past 5 years or so. There is no reason to buy a dedicated low end video card anymore, because the video acceleration of these on die GPUs is superb.
But for enthusiast solutions discrete will still easily win, and I would rather have a better CPU without a GPU on die to pair with a discrete card.
The main advantage here lies in laptops, because laptop G...
This. You'll run out of GPU performance before you run out of memory on PS4. That's the way it should be ideally on console, cos you can always do other stuff with memory elsewhere that could be somewhat useful.
Is mostly WHY stuff like Radeon 7850 has 'only' 2GB of memory, because it can't actually process the frames and effects for a higher resolution and quality much more memory would require.
Is why you would still choose a 2GB GTX680 ...
When Xbox 360 arrived, most early games ran better on midrange PC gear than they did on 360. Quake 4, COD2, prey et al. Just have a quick glance at 7600GT benches for those games! Note most 7600GTs were 256mb cards, Xbox 360 has 512mb of RAM.
It was a while before you needed better than midrange (7600GT) pc gear to beat 360. Learning a console takes time as well. You don't just turn up on a new console and hey presto! Huge gains! 360 was also supposed to be the most dev f...
Yeaaaa there is interest. I wanna see scantily clad cheerleaders in FIFA :)
Xbox 360 is already using a 128 bit interface, with EDRAM to help bridge the gap without using a wider memory bus. Its not unknown. Developers have been working this way on consoles for years.
It causes more complexity compared to a simple wider bus for sure, but it isn't insurmountable.
Microsoft by the looks of it could be going for the cheaper option with slower RAM and a big dump of on die speedy memory.
Have to just see how well pric...
I would say less and sooner. Nvidia's 14+ teraflop Maxwell GPU is due in 2014. It'll be expensive for sure for that top level performance.
http://i.imgur.com/uYIe8.jp...
However that will render this 8 teraflop effort virtually midrange in 18 months, tops! Part of the reason for that is also 7990 is way, waaay late to the party. GTX690 is nearly a year old.
I would put a fair bit...
The Getaway was ridiculous, the shots were probably pre rendered on a powerful PC at the time and there was no way in a zillion years PS2 could pull off those shots. Well, maybe at 10 seconds per frame lol...
In fact only a totally new generation of hardware like PS3 could actually get closer to them, even then it is pushing it!

Let me put it this way, a Samsung Galaxy S4 has a quad core CPU right?
Yeah, that's nice. But meaningless.
Its not about the number of cores that determines how fast a CPU is. Its not about the clockspeed. Its about the ops per clock and PS4's Jaguar ops per clock are not in the same league as something like a 4 year old 45nm Core 2 Quad let alone a Core i5 3570k or FX 8350 etc etc
I think you'll find that the actual performance o...
