The AI just looked reluctant to overtake, on a track like Nordschleife it is obviously more difficult to get past. Forza 3 is much the same AI v AI its reluctant to overtake aggressively. Most sims are like this i suspect because it would be frustrating having an AI willing to take you out to get past, as most human opponents are perfectly happy to risk as im very well aware of online. I dislike racing online against people who will constantly rear end you to get past. I seem to win more race...

What the foo am i supposed to do with something that wont fit in my pocket and is touted as handheld, but in truth is so wide you will end up resting it on your lap or a surface after extended one handed use, as you cant exactly reach all the screen surface with your thumbs. It looks like a glorified digital picture frame LOL. Buy a small netbook already and save yourself a whole bunch of cash....

I would've thought the mclaren would have been past the 458 in a shot but it never got past the whole time. Its got 70bhp more and weighs 240kg less, a whole second faster to 200kmh from a standstill.

Yes and so now you admit that nvidia doesnt have to make them, indeed the card you point to is a complete one off limited run, limited edition third party card with no nvidia reference design. Its a prototype race car versus a factory production car. Hey, so it might happen (probably wont because the mars edition at least had a basis of design to start from aka GTX295) and it might be faster than a 5970 (probably wouldnt be) for much more power and a huge price. People with two 8 pin connect...

'The max TDP for the 470 is actually 215w, not 230w. And the 480 is 250w.'

'And if all else fails, they could make it a dual 8-pin card which would give it just enough extra juice, instead of 6+8. Even the 5970 at it's 294w only uses 6+8 pin'

Wrong again. Nvidia claimed these TDPs but tests have shown they are entirely inaccurate- Nvidia's claims are not based on the maximum these cards can draw, just what they claim games can stress the card to. I told you the r...

Not really gaming news if PS3 cant read this XL format is it, unless its on a new gen machine...lol

Most PS3 games still only use a single layer disc of 25Gb which is still an awful lot for developers- more than three times that of 360's 7GB DVD capacity. 50Gb will be enough for all of PS3's useful 10 year lifespan.

'Actually a dual GPU card of Fermi is possible. The chip is still about the same size as last gens GT200's. Sure it will take a bit more power and some better cooling, but it would be possible. Or if all else failed it would be down-clocked a bit and then would work fine.'

BIT more power??? I LOL'ed at that.

You fail to understand the basic premise of dual GPU cards. PCI express power certification means the maximum any card can currently draw to meet said specif...

Developers dont struggle to develop for wii technical wise, they struggle to make any money off it for their publishers. Anyone can knock out a wii game, but knocking out a good one using motion controls that will sell is something else.

If Greenberg somehow thinks that development tools will give developers the magic touch for making great games on natal then he is sadly mistaken. What will matter is how cleverly a game uses motion and sells to the userbase, just like wii........

Only another 1980 percent to go to match PS3's past fortnight figures!

2500 as the baseline x 2000 percent = 50k which was PS3's sales in each of the past two weeks math fans

Nvidia didnt purposely design this to run this hot or consume this much power of course, it just does because the 40nm node is a major fail and nvidia didnt build in enough margin for error.

What nvidia have done as a result is lock themselves in to single GPU cards. There is simply no way to make a dual GPU card work from this architecture and current process.

Offset is the one that really pushes the boat out, almost certainly the sort of game that would require waiting for another generation of hardware even beyond GTX4 series

Wouldnt matter what tech humans fitted to our spacecraft, any aliens reaching us now would be distinctly unimpressed! The very idea they managed to navigate across space and arrive here would mean for a fact their technology would ridiculously outstrip our own when we cant launch a human beyond the dark side of the moon. Lets just hope they would be friendly huh?

The apollo guidance computer ran at 2mhz. Because the rendezvous radar had been turned on for the first time before eagle descended in case an abort landing occurred, the computer ran out of memory and CPU cycles as it was struggling to manage the tasks for landing and the data from the radar. Only a go issue from the computer engineer on hand prevented an aborted landing, as he knew the software would automatically throw away all other low priority tasks to help cope!

This is the main reason. All the bugs especially in the hardware are either worked out or extremely well known. Reliability is precisely one million times better than cutting edge and unproven in this application. This is pretty much how the military works too, apart from maybe some special forces. Better to know its going to work however crude than blow up in your face for the sake of some potential increase in performance.

Up until its discontinuation in 2007 the ancient inte...

A worthy upgrade from the aging XP. Which i suppose is really what most people actually want, its never going to be perfect but as long as its better than the previous best efforts then its heading forward.

I think they put a load of words in a hat, and them pulled them out in order to name this game. Honestly what a terrible name lol.

This is actually exceptionally bad news for consumers. Shrinking high end parts is really the only major way to force down the cost of next generation performance- Its probably even worse news for nvidia. There is simply no way they can manufacture and sell GTX480 and 470s or that level of performance at a reasonable price without a die shrink. Ati have more leeway, 5870 is much much smaller. They have room to create and design an even faster GPU at the limits of the same 40nm process. But th...
