Naturally the delay and length of development time is frustrating. For many of the fans the wait is excruciating. As a fan myself i have moments where i lose faith a little, where i think, WHY isnt it here yet? Im getting irritated.

But then i see a new trailer, some new shots, and realise how this is going to be soooooooo worth the wait and my faith is restored. As long as sony keep their promises, GT5 is less than six months away. I already waited five years, another six ...

Good upscaling is still nothing like high resolution. If you want HD wii games, then get the dolphin emulator on a gaming PC

Over half those super mario bros 3 sales were from bundles with the NES. Imagine how many GT 'sales' would be racked up if sony had dished it out with every playstation for several years as nintendo did with SMB3.

Obviously the writer sees that mario has been around for over two decades, thus racking up heavy total sales compared to those around less than half that time. Like Halo.

However well done nintendo for maintaining a strong franchise, its...

NPD figures for NORTH AMERICA again. NOT worldwide. Greenberg knowing full well its a very different story outside of america, being 360's last stronghold as PS3 is well ahead in japan and now europe.

Its just baiting really

What a surprise. Another comparison where the differences are picked out by poring over frozen shots with a microscope, and closely measuring the performance down to a frame here and there.

Face it, the performance gap on most multi titles between these consoles is now so insignificant no one should care.

Source is a good, efficient flexible engine on PC. It doesnt seem to work well on the consoles though. The likes of left 4 dead on 360 miss out on a lot of the Pc visual effects, and run without anti aliasing etc. However, you can get all that on an exceptionally low end Pc graphics card, technically slower than 360's GPU. Even a radeon 4550 runs a lot of source games better than 360 (its not even what i would call a gaming card per se, its a HTPC product) although source can be quite CPU...

I think that he has been working too much on microsoft's american machine, full of western titles. Microsoft made a concerted effort to bring on board japanese developers, but the truth is, PS3 is getting the better japanese developed exclusive titles.

He sounds more bitter that japanese developers are uninterested in using american engine technology- which of course means unreal engine 3. Finally, technology is not the only aspect of building a good game. You dont have...

Everyone stop arguing about PS3 or PC. Pc + PS3. Its the perfect HD combination, PS3's exclusives and a lot of the ultimate versions of games on 360....

'PS3 exclusives like UC2, KZ2, GOW3 and GT5 look better than any PC game bar crysis, lets get that out the way first.'

I just have to disagree. Good as these games look, they are still only 1280 x 720 and 30 frames a second. GT5 can run 1280 x 1080 50-60 frames a second. Granted resolution is not the be all and end all of how good a game looks. But its a start.

I'll take an example of say....Resident Evil 5. This is a multi title obviously. As...

Pc has been perfectly capable of exceeding crysis graphics since 2007 and warhead in 2008, simply developers have not invested themselves into exploiting it properly. PS3 has been pumping out 1280 x 720 graphics that beat other 720p CONSOLE games visually, not Pc games.

I dare suggest that you are unaware of how PC versions of several consoles games actually look now on a good PC, Bad company 2 for example is ridiculously better looking on PC than console, and for me, bette...

PS3/360 performance on the lastest silicon process still requires around 50-60 watts. No problem at all for a laptop and 9 cell battery, but totally impossible for a handheld sized device. At least four or five years away from that sort of performance in a device that compact.

Original Xbox performance however is perfectly viable for a new generation of handhelds. Assuming you want an upgrade of say 720x480 resolution on a small screen (Psp is 480x272), it would look really...

360 realistically has a lower ceiling than PS3 and wii simply because it has failed in japan again. When there is a potential 10 million+ sales to be had in the lifespan of a good machine in japan and 360 wont be able to manage a fifth of that, then its impossible for it to really sell more than PS3 and wii by the end of its lifespan

Its not too difficult to understand. Simply put, the individual frames being delivered to the screen do not match the exact refresh rate, or timing, of the display itself, which is set.

So what happens is that the new frame half overwrites the previous frame, instead of updating perfectly synchronised and replacing the whole image at once. Of course if you happen to have moved the image sideways, as in looking left or right for example on a first person shooter, then the ne...

Be fair. Its ten years old. What do you expect? It looked reasonable for the time- PS2 wasnt even out in america or europe when this game arrived. You were all playing 320x240 res PS1 games when i was playing this @ 1024x768 in the year 2000. Perspective: The Call of Duty games dont even match that resolution on the consoles in 2009....

Gameplay wise it was revolutionary at the time, so many other titles have copied the formula and naturally several have refined it. Its fla...
