F.E.A.R had some great moments, the infamous ladder scene was a double whammy. I dare anyone to have played it first time out and not jump pulling the trigger automatically.

Cheap tat. A quality product would have a nice rechargeable pack, lithium polymer. Nickel metal hydride, at least.

Ban. Foreign. Language. Sites.

Especially ones stealing youtube videos. It should be easy to block submission URLs starting with google translate. If news is significant enough, it'll be reported somewhere in english, on an english language site.

Crysis is another that didnt get slammed. It got excellent reviews. True enough on release back in 2007, the fastest graphics in the world was an 8800 ultra. It cost 300 pounds. Crysis squashed it badly. But tech moves on quickly for PC, and 120 pounds three years on buys you a card thats twice as fast as an 8800 ultra, perfectly capable of coping with crysis.

Im pretty confident this time will be different with crysis 2, and although i expect it to challenge the fastest ca...

Pc wins everytime on multiplatform games. The argument is old and settled long ago.

The argument about exclusives is moot when it comes to a topic such as this and irrelevant. Exclusives are about what type of games you like to play. Citing multiple console platform exclusives versus only PC is obviously a stupid argument, just as you wouldnt cite PC, PS3 and 360 exclusives against wii why would you cite PS3, 360 and wii exclusives against a single platform like PC.

I usually get by when i buy nearly all the multi format games on PC and save at least 10 pounds on each one. I buy as many as 30 multi titles a year but usually at least 20. Saves me hundreds and hundreds on games. Put it back in PC hardware.

What do you consider 'fair?' You can get 768mb GTX460 for about 120 pounds, or 170 dollars. In about three weeks, that could drop further because AMD release new cards in that segment.

GTX460 768 will utterly obliterate any console port you throw at it coupled with a dual core from the past 4 years. Its a good 5 times as fast as PS3's and 360's GPU. But then of course, its generations newer. Is that really 'fair?' Maybe not, but PC gamers arent compl...

Wish more had been said about the PC version, only a short note on the loading times. They are oddly slow, i have a fast RAID setup and most of the time during the loading screens, the HDD busy light isnt even lit. Whatever the game is doing while 'loading', isnt loading.

Codemasters could probably halve the loading times on PC if they found this problem and nailed it down. Its a bit lazy not optimising loading before shipping, fix this please.

PC fixes this. I did notice the tearing and the performance on 360 was a bit sub par. It does seem to be worth persisting with, although the lip synching and the acting is a bit amateurish.

Gordon Freeman. 1998-

The Chief actually talks. Freeman hasnt said a word in 12 years and yet still managed to crowbar his way through a bunch of the best plotted and structured shooters in history.

This is EA we are talking about here. Maybe they will just remove only the home national side for each different individual country the game is sold in, then offer that team as premium DLC.

It hasnt happened yet. I guess i shouldnt give them ideas.

Im not ignoring, nor arguing against american involvement or american money. Im denying america the right to call the GT40 an american car or claim them as all american victories. Like i said. At the very best the car is a collaboration with heavy, major british engineering involvement. Im sure you wouldnt deny it, its impossible.

Just as its only fair to see the apollo program as a lot of American money with a German rocket scientist, and a team of German scientists leadin...

Yup. I consider myself reasonably good at racing games. Was astounded when at practice at hockenheim soaking wet the AI managed to post 1.20s. I absolutely pushed my lotus to the edge on both wets and inters and only broke a 1.21.

Qualifying came around and it was bone dry. My very first lap on the option tyres was a 1.18 no sweat. However when i checked the AI times, they were struggling to break under 1.20. That the AI times were unbeatable in the wet but no faster in the...

Its no surprise the Mk 4 was faster. It was several years newer. Your argument is that one american redesign win equals the achievements of three wins from the british design. I think not. The car's legacy is at the very best, 25 percent american involvement and 75 percent british. Its the only 'american' winner, and as i demonstrated, hardly american at all. Take away three of those wins and what you have is a flash in the pan, not a legend.

American money can ...

You are right in some respects, it never won the first time round. But face facts. The chassis was designed from the ground up by two british engineers and a third american with a british education, in england. The first cars were built in england. Shelby did indeed win with a Mk4, but the basic fact remains, the chassis design was as british as it could possibly be.

As for the idea that the redesigned version was the best, its arguable. It was Mk 1 GT40s in British hands (...

The uk seems to have a specialty with racers. We are crazy about internal combustion. I think we have an affinity for racing real and simulated in history, the sport runs through this place like blood in the veins. It helps that the pinnacle of circuit racing, Formula 1, is heavily british. From the number of british winners to the number of contructors based in the uk and all the foreign teams using british engineering talent. Even when the GT40 ran rampant at le mans all those years ago, th...

Kinect if it fails wouldnt be a deadly financial disaster in the short term, but it could affect the Xbox brand in the long term, certainly. Confidence is key in the game industry.

The other thing that Microsoft will desperately want to work is Phone 7 without a doubt. That market is cutthroat right now, and if 7 sinks then it will hurt microsoft A LOT in the mobile sector.
