Found a gap in the market and they filled it, good for them. They are a business out to make money, stop blaming them for doing so. I do disgaree with the article as a whole but i think Nintendo deserve to win this time around, they have been the underdog since the playstation 1 in terms of home consoles and i think its time we stepped back and let them get some light.
Cliffy doesn't have half as much involvement as some other guys do on the development team, Cliffy is just like a rep for the game, just is involved with designing it too.

After playing the beta, WW2 suits the CoD4 engine much better. The game actually feels like a war on the multiplayer! I mean, there are not many games that can pull that type of thing off, CoD4 didn't.
I like the multiplayer, going off the beta better than CoD4 and the story mode, the co-op mode and the co-op zombie mode!
I can't wait for this game - I know, especially being in the beta that it doesn't really hold a candle upto killzone 2, but that game is still alon...
Resistance 2 isnt out here in europe yet and have gears 2, i must say the story on gears is very shallow - but that isn't really a bad thing, i mean, who plays gears for the story anyway ? :P

Heh, good point. But HL2 was reviewed back when reviews meant something and 10/10s were not given to just anything.
But the data transfer rate on blu-ray is much higher than DVD, so a fast blu-ray drive is not needed. So yeah, these installs are just the developers wanting their games run better. The developers have been asking for hard drives in consoles for years, they finally get them, they start using them and then people start complaining? ;\
We all know that the casual audience is where everyone wants to go to bring in big sales, what the article is basically saying is that to the outside world - gears 2 is most likely just another shooter.
Then it is using LBP to compare as there is nothing else out there like it, sure there is games with create modes and such but the game as a whole.
It is not saying gears 2 itself is just another shooter, it is saying that with microsoft and sony both trying to get in...
Half life 2 is a 4 year old game, the physics engine at the time was up there with the best.
Has been put in the best games lists, by many - many reviewers and gamers.
Its hardly a miss.
Anyway, i wasn't planning on getting this on either PS3 or 360 anyway, i like my valve games on a PC :)

When you hand over one of the best shooter franchises over to some inexperienced developers, give them a little budget and a little time to do it.
I would rather sony had zipper put MAG on hold and do this socom themself then go back to MAG, sure everything would of been a bit later - but at least we would of got a socom we all know and love.
Just don't buy it for the story development, buy it for the amazing "Please stop shooting me so i can admire my enviroment" moments.

The only place really the 360 is beating the ps3 in sales is NA, the ps3 is outselling the 360 in total sales in both europe, japan and a good few middle eastern countries.
