Nah, I think the worst ended when Resident Evil 6 became so such a lowly received game. Sure it sold "okay-ish" for Capcom's standards, but do they honestly feel they can risk an RE game with such low scores a second time?
Besides, with the rise of games like Slender and Amnesia, gamers have other alternatives to turn to for a horror fix. The horror genre will survive; I don't think there's too much reason to worry right now.
It's part of the eighth generation of video game consoles while its predecessor was in the seventh. That's really all that needs to be said on the matter.
It's a shame that there's no guarantee every Wii U owner will play the game. It actually does a pretty good job of using the Wii U gamepad in fun ways.
I'm not too fond of their approach on marketing certain games either. Hopefully come this summer they will rethink their strategy in that regard.
It can result in some, I'd think. The 3DS didn't exactly start with a great deal of third party support and it wound up getting Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Tales of, a lot of stuff but only after its sales picked up following the two big Mario titles and price drop.
Oy. Another one of these scams? It was crap like this that made me dislike Hillary Clinton, among other staff members of the American government.
EDIT: @yesmynameissumo and Donnieboi
No kidding, right? Why not tax rated R movies or death metal music? While we're at it, let's charge anyone who drops an F bomb. Like the silver age! That will save the kiddies for sure!
Cute designs I guess. I wonder if this is going to be anything like the Pac-man World series.
Sadly this list is not sufficient, not expansive enough. Many of these games are VC games and older ports. So while there IS more content, a lot of it is content that many gamers already have access to on other platforms for cheaper prices. You can't really justify it with those titles.
Bust out some Smash Bros. and Star Fox and then it will be a very different story.
5. I assume they meant no Wii U support at launch? Because we have at least a few games coming during summer and the holidays, possibly more depending on what's announced at E3. But yeah, while Nintendo can't just make twelve different games at the same time, the Wii U should have seen more support from Nintendo at launch. You could never sell a console with just Nintendo Land or NSMB alone.
4. Okay, really? The 3DS is sold at a profit and both the regular and XL mode...
@ShinMaster
Read the article, then both comments again. If you can't understand it by then, all I can tell you is you have terrible reading comprehension skills.
It's the same as the PSP. Same tech, it was just a download only machine.
@decrypt
Did you even attempt to bother to understand the context of the sentence?
"Nintendo's new console is the paragon of efficiency, producing current-gen visuals using less than half the power of the Xbox 360 or PS3 running the same games."
They're saying it's efficient because it plays the same games while generating much less power than its predecessor's HD competition.
Not a bad list. Throw in some Eternal Darkness and perhaps a new Mother/Eartbound and we're cool.
Actually I'd say it's a mix of all of that and that really terrible Bomberman Act Zero design. In other words, no creativity, no effort, no interest. Just more boring generic and unlikeable crap.
Counting Resident Evil 6, DmC and now this, you'd have to wonder how many IPs made by their former devs they plan on butchering.
People can like what they want and DmC is no exception. If there are people who want to defend DmC, let them. That's their opinion.
But in my view, DmC was an absolute travesty of a bullcrap reboot. The characters were horribly written and the game itself was so broken and watered down it felt almost like an entirely different game. At best the game looked somewhat pretty and that's all it had going for it.
Maybe next time Capcom will think twice befo...
Ha, this game looked laughably generic. This is a worse butchering than DmC.
Much appreciated.
While I am curious to see how they can update the OS and possibly make some of the corrections I was talking about in this blog, I agree that when it boils down to it Nintendo needs to bust out the heavy hitting content. An online F-Zero should have launched with this thing to appeal to the more dedicated gamer.
More than likely they have a lot of fans who vote them back up or something of the like... certainly wouldn't be the first dishonest thing they've done.
Absolutely. They've managed to create three profitable console generations (one of which was a major success over its competition for the majority of its time) with very little third party support. I agree with you, when push comes to shove they really don't NEED third party support.
But as a Wii U owner, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to want to have more content available on the console. It's great that we'll be able to play Watch Dogs or Res...
There has been a lot of mixed feedback. Some developers see potential while others or unsure or have ignored the system entirely. Few games have really used the Wii U to its full potential, mostly because Nintendo understands the hardware better than anyone. I don't believe that Wii U's full potential can match its upcoming competition, but I still think it can produce games that are noticeably better looking than what you can see on a 360 or PS3. The issue now is for those games to a...
Pac-man World 2 was my personal favorite of the three. It was pretty fun and it came with Pac-man Vs., arguably the greatest local multiplayer game ever.
