Agreed.
It goes to show that you really can't trust a lot of reviews these days. They're either too afraid of scrutiny so they go with a 'safe' review or they incorporate their own personal biases into the review (which admittedly some people may not mind or even encourage) and it becomes more one-sided.
Personally, I think trying a game for oneself is the best way to go. Denying yourself an experience because someone else said it was bad is u...
Outside of possible DVD playback or offline game modding I don't see much that's good. A console being hacked often leads to piracy and I have no interest in not paying for new games that are being sold to carry developers. This industry is vulnerable enough as it is.
Hey, what goes around comes around. Maybe next time you reply to one of my comments you won't make shit up. When that happens I'll gladly oblige by doing the same.
Also Nintendo just started programming HD content. Their jump this past year was from 480i to 720p. I remember around launch time it was stated that Nintendo's inner developed software would initially be rendered in 720p, like NSMBU and Nintendo Land, but would later on be made in 1080p.
Ha! The headline had me at "Iwata punches..."
I don't know about you, but I'd pay money to see that.
Aren't memes technically public domain? I've seen television shows get away with worse.
You're basing all of the Wii U's graphical potential on launch games? Those which being New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendo Land? Really?
So I guess it doesn't take years to make a full fledged Zelda game or Metroid in your eyes then? Please development guru, show me the ways!
"Bububububut Zelda's the same game over and over herdiduurrrrr!"
In all seriousness I agree. The new game should do new things and make its own conventions as oppose to borrowing them from past games. The whole reason the new 3DS game is the way it is is because it is set in the same universe (possibly a sequel or prequel) to A Link to the Past.
Hey, chill dude. I actually am optimistic that Iwata means what he says and that he and the company do want to clear up said misconceptions.
But unfortunately right now the Wii U has that reputation because the games on it don't really prove it its true potential. I'm saying it's up to their development teams to rectify the proplem and create games that look and play great and prove to people that it isn't underpowered.
And yes, I'm well a...
I don't get it either. I'm with the fans who think Kojima is pulling a fast one again.
I guess that means that sci-fi shooter that Neversoft was supposedly working on was scrapped?
I see. Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm curious as to how high his position at the company is. Isn't he only the writer or creative director at that studio? If that's so, it makes sense that he's in it for the creation and not the profits. Profits typically fall more in line with the CEOs and suits of the publishers.
Oh yeah? Well, that'd be great. But thing is you need to put out games that PROVE that. That's the only way to convince anyone of anything. Now deliver.
If I'm not mistaken, the difference in sales between the Wii and Wii U after their initial holiday bursts was only of a few hundred thousand units, maybe three to five.
To say that the Wii U did not at least have a nice head start is foolery. Unfortunately, with no big games to entice anyone and no notoriety on the market, the sales of dropped pretty significantly. Nintendo needs to make people who are both aware and unaware of this thing to want it.
Not that I disagree or anything, but what do you expect them to do at this point exactly? Part of the reason the first party stuff is not out on Wii U yet is because they're trying to make them as great as possible.
If no one saw Aliens Colonial Marines' Wii U version being cancelled as a bad thing, then I don't see how anyone would view a half-finished Mario or Zelda as a good thing.
To quote one Baird from Gears of War, "Did anyone else's bullshit meter just go off?"
Bring it over to the west. All Vita owners deserve to try this masterpiece. I personally loved it on the Wii.
Okay, so you have pirated games before. You can sugarcoat it all you want, but ROMs fall into the category. Buying a game is also buying a license that grants you the legal permission to own and play that game on a particular console. Downloading a ROM obviously provides no such license.
I'm not saying it's stealing which is what you seem to think I'm trying to imply. But downloading ROMs is piracy. How wrong it is up to you at this point.
How about not taking my comment out of context? He says "developers needed to add the final touches that are increasingly demanded by a gaming audience seeking added value for money."
That sounds like good intentions to me. And as I said before, now they need to deliver. If there's something else in my comment you'd like to nitpick, by all means go ahead.
A glorified HD projector? I'm not really sure what it's supposed to do exactly. It seems more like a distraction than anything else. Wouldn't it be more practical to simply invest in an actual HD projector and a wall-sized screen?
