Traditional Zelda didn't die... they're bringing back standard controls with Wind Waker HD.

But anyway, Twilight Princess left something to be desired. The controls weren't 1:1 like Skyward Sword, so it didn't feel very natural (although admittedly swinging the sword with the Wiimote was pretty cool at first).

TP was better on the Gamecube. Skyward Sword was a worthy prequel game and made good use of the motion control.

lol That's not the same thing at all. With Xbox and PS4 it's to be expected. With Wii U it's a different story since up until recently we haven't really seen many devs (I think Shin'en and Criterion were the only exceptions) actually try to take advantage of the hardware.

Well, there's also X and Wonderful 101. Those are new IPs, so... maybe the disagrees are acknowledgement of those times when Nintendo does make a brand new IP?

Just saying, that could possibly be a reason.

They make more money making consoles. I doubt they want to pay other companies licensing fees when they are capable of developing their own hardware. Business wise, going third party is a stupid idea. Nintendo doesn't lose money the way Sega used to.

Haven't seen you in a while. Good to know you show up again just to complain about a comment of mine. That's not typical at all. /s

As for your "to the rescue" comment, I must have been totally "to the rescue" when I chewed out Nintendo in my own blog. A number of times actually.

Considering how at times the criticisms flung toward Nintendo and at the fans are at times outright insulting, it's no wonder some fans would get defensive. Besides, I've seen many a defensive rant from the other sides as well, sometimes just as bad if not worse.

Furthermore, even in my own adult years I continue to watch Disney/Pixar films as I have an appreciation for animation (and because the stories are fun). If you relegate yourself to anything that isn't en...

You know, I get pretty annoyed by this sort of reaction when the general consensus around here is that the Wii U is either on par or weaker than said seven year old systems.

Suddenly when someone claims exactly the opposite someone leaves this sort of comment. Make up your minds, people. Either you think it's on par/weaker or it's obvious it's more powerful. One or the other, not both.

Okay, fair enough. You're right th...

My bad on the derpy grammar.

I wouldn't call it a failure if they can either make the thing sell or keep it profitable. A lot of people call the Gamecube a failure because it sold very little. Others will call the Wii a failure because it didn't satisfy the core audience. Both made money as oppose to lost it for the company (though the latter much more than the former).

From where I stand, Wii U can go either way at this point.

Hey, it made the top ten list in America! That's a great thing especially when it's a niche Japanese game that's competing with The Last of Us, Animal Crossing, PXZ and Deadpool.

Personally, I'm quite proud of gamers for supporting Muramasa on Vita. Gives me hope for both the Vita console as well as other Japanese games.

It's funny, usually the rhetoric around here is that Sonic is saving Mario. Either way, the game looks really solid and I look forward to playing it. Just wish both versions had online multiplayer as oppose to just the 3DS version.

Last time I checked Microsoft's mistakes have been considerably larger as of late. Make no mistake, this move was lousy on Nintendo's part. But at the very least, it's not akin to keeping their console always online, barring the free commerce of used games and letting their PR make the whole situation far worse than it already was. Or outright treating indies like crap.

And at least Nintendo rectified this issue in a matter of hours. Doesn't make it all that m...

Well, here's one since you apparently don't know how to use Google.

This is Crytek talking about how CryEngine3 "runs beautifully" on Wii U. Other devs that have praised Wii U hardware include the lesser known devs Shin'en, Frozenbyte and Image & Form.

There are lots of people who are not well spoken. Does not mean they are bad craftspeople. Is Quentin Tarentino a bad writer because he uses slurs a lot in his movie scripts? or because he swears in interviews? I certainly don't think so.

Kamiya telling off some nimrods on Twitter is not in any way an impediment on his ability to create awesome games.

Well, I identify as a Nintendo fan. But it's mostly because they are my favorite game developer. Doesn't mean I go nutso and hate on the other guys incessantly (although enough people have lied that claim before).

I'm a fairly young dude who grew up on the NES. I also liked playing Sonic on the Genesis. Also owned a Dreamcast, a PS2, and Xbox and so one. Yet for some reason I've been accused of hating both Sony and Microsoft. It's a shame because people re...

You will absolutely not regret it. I tell you, Nintendo says they can't figure out what to do with F-Zero. Honestly, an HD remake of that game with online multiplayer would totally suffice for me (just get rid of the bad voice acting).

I love ya Miyamoto, but that's difficult to believe when I just read that developing in HD on Wii U requires twice the manpower. Something which the team was unprepared for.

Just get back to releasing the Wii U's first great game of the end of the year we're square, savvy?
