Good. Their games need some damn promotion.

That's because every time you suggested it you 1) treated it like it was the second coming of all gaming and that the whole universe revolved around it and 2) didn't acknowledge any of the retail price drops that did NOTHING to speed up sales.

The only reason I'm NOW saying a price drop will be necessary is because it's competing with only slightly more expensive hardware.

Your reasoning was stupid, mine is at least logical.

So... you mean to tell me this guy didn't like it because it was too hard and because of an optional multiplayer "easy mode" character?

I know the DLC is flawed, but sheesh! Talk about having a stick up your butt.

Not all THAT much earlier, but I'll take what I can get. I really want this game ASAP. It's been so long since I've played any Pikmin game.

Ha! You beat me to it.

The website is not letting me write a report, so I'll just do it here.

Other: This isn't necessarily a blog post. You can post this as a user review instead. Hope that helps.

@Godmars290

I do enjoy ZombiU, but the game wasn't exactly finished when they released it. They had to patch out a number of glitches months later. Begs the question just how much they spent on it.

Hope they're successful this time.

Actually the first DLC they put out was for New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS even further back, if you want to get technical. :p

The thing that people don't consider (notably the people who seem to be the ones disagreeing with you and Theyellowflash30) is that Nintendo doesn't take large losses on hardware.

Sony takes losses but they sell a lot of hardware and software. Sega took losses but did not sell hardware and therefor not a great deal of software. In the Dreamcast's case it was riddled with rampant piracy, so even the few software sales they made were gimped. And this was after the S...

Can't help but agree there. I think it would be more appropriate to cut the price around launch time to make it more competitive, but I do concede that it will need one to gain traction when the new consoles come out.

This will sound ridiculous but you'd be surprised how isolated and sheltered some peoples' tastes are. It's part of why Call of Duty does so well each year.

@legendoflex

Just the general vibe. I don't know anyone who isn't buying one of the two but more than enough people who are either on the fence on Wii U or are not interested altogether.

PS4 seems to have the greatest chance of success and Xbox One still has a shot to beat its current reputation. It ain't over until these consoles are on the market for at least a few years. I'll be very surprised if they, especially the PS4, don't sell at ...

Thought I'd throw this link your way. Honestly, I think you're on the ball on this topic, but Microsoft certainly is not doing itself any favors if a report like this turns out to be true. Frankly I don't think anyone will care either way.

Gee, thanks for the explanation. Are you normally this mature and informative?

I suppose the next time the Wii U sells 50k come this holiday season everyone will be cheering for how well it's doing. /s

Seriously, this is hardly something to celebrate over. The Vita's doing less badly. And? It should be doing better. A LOT better. In fact these were numbers the Wii U was pulling around January and a little after.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If people are going to complain about Nintendo not producing new IPs then the least they can do is support the new ones they DO make. Or at least make yourself more knowledgeable. It's pretty weird seeing someone complain about Nintendo "just reusing the same old IPs" when Wonderful 101 and X are sitting right there on the table. There's even a sequel to Kid Icarus out and another coming for Pikmin, both of which have not be...

Using the word retrospective feels so weird when it involves a game that's not even a year old.

Edit: On-topic, it's a shame more people didn't give the game a chance. It had its share of flaws, but it's one of the few horror shooter games I've played with actual survival elements on a console.

It would be pretty jarring if Nintendo made such a huge turn-around that Wii U did better than PS4/Xbox One. But at this stage it's pretty unlikely.

I think they should just aim for whatever success they can achieve and get some games that will attract audiences. Pull a 3DS and get people to want this thing. Having an exclusive Atlus game (Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem) may help, as will the exclusive Sonic coming this year. Games, games, games. And marketing. And obvi...

I disagree.

Why criticize them for taking the high road? If there's anyone to raise a finger at here, it's whoever at Nintendo made such a dumb knee-jerk decision, only to have it reveresed when they realized they screwed up.

The guys you're calling out for "bending over" obviously LIKE Nintendo, so much so that they included a game from them that some would argue is not even a fighting game. Evidently they don't want to cause any so...

Don't know. Either way it's still a pleasant surprise.

I really do hope this game is successful. I've heard many great things about the original, and it (along with the new Mickey Mouse remake) can pave the way for other remakes of classic Disney license games such as Aladdin or Chip 'n Dale.
