@D_RoyJenkins
Well that's not an ignorant generalization at all. /s
The game looks damn good. That's why it's being hyped. Will it be a system seller? I'm not going to give an answer. I'd rather wait and see since people are really talking about this game.
"Nintendo fans are only hyping this game up because there's nothing else at the moment."
Er, right. Like Pikmin 3 didn't just come out...
You're oversimplifying the issues for one thing.
Sega's marketing was fundamentally flawed because there way of going about it had next to nothing to do with gamers in the right regions. What the hell is an event with Madonna going to do? Do you know many Gears of War fans who were into Madonna? I didn't think so. You can only do so much just by plastering your main character on a wall. You need to convey a message that catches peoples' interests and gets them...
Considering the game got its very own Direct which has invigorated at least a portion of gamers on the internet, and now it's seeing an ad campaign in Japan apparently, I'd say it's a lot better than much Sega's advertisement.
All of those Bayonetta images are all in Japan. We're talking about a game that came out on the XBOX 360 and was half-assedly PORTED over to the PS3. So gee, no wonder the game didn't sell well when Sega didn't even bother to...
Oh really. You ever get 80 rupees for the sail and then go to that rich guy's house with all the vases?
I thought, "Oh it's no biggie, I'll wreck his crap like everyone else and take all their rupees!"
Remember how many vases there were? Eight. You know how many rupees he takes away for each one you break? Ten. I raged so hard when that happened. Trust me, I was extra careful with how many rupees I had after that.
I would argue that people are just still largely unaware or uninterested (though mostly the former). It's a neat console. I just thought Nintendo rather piss-poorly managed to promote the damn thing when it came out almost a year ago. Launch sales weren't even all that terrible. It sold nearly three million units in two months. Then the sales plateaued and went kaput because Nintendo failed to keep momentum.
Beyond that there have been few large scale software release...
Sheesh. Someone REALLY doesn't like it when people are anticipating a Wii U game.
@Whymii
No, he really is a troll. Bubble him down and be done.
@lopez
It's pretty funny to see them try so hard, not gonna lie. :p
@Brucis
Well said, but LOL_WUT is a troll. Just bubble him down and be done with it.
All I want is his final smash to be him turning into the classic "puck" version of Pac-Man and you get to eat all the other players, who all turn blue (as mentioned in the video).
Sounds like you are equating a tiny vocal minority to the likes of every Nintendo fan in this part of the community. Which is inaccurate.
Being happy about the Wii U FINALLY having a "wonderful" must-have game (which is a brand new Nintendo IP no less) is obviously going to be celebrated by fans. That's not condescending. It's no different than when any group of Sony fans are anticipating a cool new PS4 game or Microsoft fans a cool new Xbox One release.
Personally I just want them to keep expanding and trying new styles. Experimentation is key.
@MiasmaDodo
That's because you handled your comments in a poor and tactless manner in the same vain as a troll.
@maniacmayhem
Just thought I'd throw out there that Kirby, while not quite as focused on as Mario or Zelda, receives a lot more focus than many of Nintendo's other franchises. Kirby has seen at least one console game each generation (three during the Wii era) and a slew of handheld games.
It would not surprise me if they announce a new Kirby game somewhere in the near future, probably after Yoshi Yarn is closer to release.
@EDIT: So w...
3DS has been profitable after the price drop since September of last year. You fail.
You make some good points. Sales do serve some significance to each respective company, but I would argue that us gamers knowing these numbers provides little significance if any at all. In the end it's up to the companies to make these products successful. Fans like ourselves can only do so much as individuals.
Yeah, their recently reported profit is CLEARLY a sign of their timely death. /s
In reality it should not matter in the end since console sales don't really affect any of us gamers. In fact last time I checked, software sales were the real money makers for publishers.
Hmm. First time in a while I've seen the 3DS get outsold by the Xbox 360 (if only by the slightest of margins). But then these numbers are not exactly all that trustworthy, being vgchartz and all.
You forgot to add that a lot of people don't understand that LOL_WUT is a troll and should probably be bubbled down. He says purposefully inflammatory and illogical things to get a rise out of people. :p
