@Akuma
Nintendo is historically very secretive. Given what has become of the competition of the Wii, I'm not surprised either.
At least it won't red ring. I've heard next to no stories involving Nintendo products breaking.
In a way they've already started. Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus: Uprising both have some pretty impressive online features. Even 3rd party content like Resident Evil: Revelations and the fighting games like Dead or Alive Dimensions and Tekken 3D all have some really nice online components. You also have to use the friend code only once, and those won't even be in the Wii U (yes, Nintendo confirmed it).
Now that's all 3DS and the Nintendo Network was only just recent...
Yeah. Shit like this will really kill a quality content market.

Take a good long look here folks. This is a personal attack on someone for their opinion.
People just say that because iPads (which by the way, are just a fad) sell as much as they do and count as technology. The gaming industry may not reach what Apple achieved with their "tablets-for-dummies" ; but it's still a profitable industry nonetheless.
Um... aside from Zelda OoT 3D, what's the last remake they had from any of those franchises?
Unless both companies choose to sell at a loss.
Okay... how the hell does browngamer41's comment count as a "personal attack"?
Anyway, I recently visited Reddit and I must say that it's largely uncanny how far less negative that community is toward the Wii U.
For one thing, the majority of them weren't stupid enough to buy these recent negative rumors that came out. Largely because they possessed the ability to put two and two together and realize that given what we know and we have h...
Then why did Resident Evil: Revelations and Kid Icarus: Uprising sell as well as they did? The DS and 3DS identified with both casual and core crowds. I see no reason why the Wii U can't do the same.
Well, of course! :P
There is an interview with Epic's Mark Rein. He said that Unreal 4 could theoretically be downscaled to run on Wii U just as Unreal 3 could be downscaled for 360/PS3.
Finally. Rumors that actually matter and actually hold some water.
If you go to the "Whispers in the Industry" article for the Wii U, there's another rumor suggesting that Nintendo's very unhappy with the source of that anonymous rumor but are choosing to remain tight lipped about the Wii U specs so as to not ruin the reveal. The article also says Nintendo believes the final version of the Wii U will prove to be very powerful; much more so than people are suggesting.
"they had no qualm being proud of the obvious superior firepower of the gamecube and n64 over their fellow consoles rivals ."
Because that worked so well for those two consoles, right?
Clearly this dated.
That "report" about the Wii U is apparently a false rumor (which isn't surprising given that it came out a day after April Fools). http://n4g.com/news/974866/...
^This article provides another rumor suggesting that Nintendo is unhappy with the rumor due to stocks going down and believe that the final product will prove things are...
Why? Because it's easy for morons to hate on Nintendo. And because people on the internet are fickle and stupid enough to believe crap rumors like that.
The Wii had some unique games despite being extremely underpowered compared to its primary competition. No More Heroes didn't move to other consoles for years. I remember a lot of people liked Mad World as well.
We've reached a time in gaming where I think Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all have designated audiences. I doubt that the Wii U cannot compete because Nintendo has its audience. It's part of the same crowd that boosted the 3DS through Mario games.
Doom and gloom. just like the Wii and DS. No touch screens and no motion sensing either. Both were very successful.
