Because he has the free right just as you have the free right to argue against it?

Technically there's the Virtual Console.

It's not unwise to broaden your audience. Nintendo's issue is that their E3 conference did not identify with the core crowd at all. Obviously Pikmin didn't move many people here and they spent a large amount of time on Wii Fit U and Nintendo Land.

Had they ended the conference with Retro or Monolith's new game; had they given core gamers SOMETHING to end that conference with, it wouldn't have been so poorly received.

Did you read my comment? I never said you should jump on any bandwagon. My personal belief is that violent games have become excessive and abundant. After a new CoD, Halo and Gears of War come out, it's nice to be able to play something more mellow or even just more down to earth.

It's like listening to one genre of music for too long. I'll eventually get bored of it.

@brish

Look at that. You see that? Your comment has common sense in it! How about that! Hard to find those on this website.

@kneon

Highly unlikely based on unknown specs and some launch titles' game footage?

A game can be incredibly fun, even without violence. Portal is a critically acclaimed non-violent game that was written for adults. I think you're just looking at the wrong non-violent games.

So how many insecure frat/CoD gamers wish to call him out as an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about?

I don't think super violent games need to stop, but they certainly have become the bulk of the industry. Halo, CoD, Gears of War, Killzone and other such M-rated shooters are some of the most popular games in the industry. I don't think games make people killers but just like any movie, it can desensitize a person from death and gratuitous violence. ...

First, I specifically said they got the actual online gaming aspect wrong (or so implied at E3).

Second, we already know it supports voice chat. They just never detailed it. My proof is the original Future Soldier Wii U demo from last year.

That's a pretty big if.

Sony suffered pretty big losses from providing a super strong piece of hardware that was not only expensive for gamers, but for developers as well.

We know the PS4 will be stronger than the PS3. The by just how much is a huge question mark. No one, not even Sony's own fans can pretend they know the exact amount.

Right now, it's all pure speculation. Calling the Wii U out as a weak platform doesn't stren...

It's Nintendo. People seem to love to hate them. If that includes making the situation seem worse than it actually is then they'll play the card and run with it.

It's a strong piece of hardware with some cool looking games. It's a shame that some people actually will act as if they are better than others for thinking so.

There are some promising games for Wii U. Nothing HUGE so far, but it has promising games. P-100? Pikmin 3? Zombie U? They're very promising titles IMO. Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition, Assassin's Creed III and Ninja Gaiden 3 are being marketed as best played on Wii U. And there's the promise of future titles like the Aliens game, Retro Studios' upcoming game as well as Monolith's.

But you do bring up a strong point. Neither the 360 nor the PS3 had any...

It's kind of strange... Nintendo's getting a lot of things right with their online plans except for the actual portion involving online gaming.

So far at least.

The 3DS is projecting very nice graphics twice over with the use of 3D. It also has two games that are running the Resident Evil 5 engine.

Regardless of what or what any "Nintendrone" tells you, the 3DS is quite powerful for a "children's toy."

They've never done that historically. For people to be flipping out over it now as if it was to be expected is completely ridiculous.

5121d ago 4 agree3 disagreeView comment

Just because the games are old does not mean you can discount them. They had almost as many third party games as they had first party in that montage.

Besides, Assassin's Creed III, Ninja Gaiden 3, Batman Arkham City and Aliens are all being marketed as best played on Wii U. I'm not understanding what exactly else you're expecting.

The Wii U has just as many positives riding it as it has negatives, just like any other console.

People are judging it prematurely because of the shoddy nature of the E3 conference, which is ridiculous. The conference does not dictate the system's overall quality.

In fact, just as you said, anyone who was there at the conference and therefor at the show floor has been really enjoying the Wii U and its revealed games. Don't believe me? Google any Wii U...

So he's basing this on some vague specs and launch titles?

People are just so insightful, no?

5121d ago 13 agree8 disagreeView comment

Iwata says the games we saw for it at E3 use only half its power. Stop saying its last generation when you don't even know all of the official specs.

Hell most of the games you saw at E3 weren't even developed for Wii U from the ground up. Many of them are ports and Pikmin 3 started out as a Wii game.

Balls. How awesome would it have been to be guaranteed a Wii U for the price they had listed? XD
