I don't know if for launch; it's difficult to tell given the nature of the console's launch. But perhaps launch window or (at worst) during the first year down the line, I do agree that they'll have something impressive for the core demographic.
Retro and Monolith ain't sitting around twiddling their thumbs, that's for sure.
I guess you could say it defined a generation. Kind of like the band Nirvana. When it boils down to it, its a generally pretty good experience. But the kicker is it inspired many young people who all grew up with that particular era.

No, they're multimedia devices that happen to have video games on them; there's a difference between that and a dedicated gaming device.
It's ridiculous to list an iPhone and a Playstation Vita/3DS in the same category since the former is a phone with a ton of features while the other two are primarily designed for dedicated video gaming.
3rd party support doesn't change anything. I don't care who makes games for ...

StarFox, don't be stupid. I doubt there are many core gamers who watch Jimmy Fallon. Have some patience; they'll release the price sooner or later between now and the launch of the system.

Well considering that Nintendo created the traditional controller style, I'd imagine fans would defend them for using a style for their controller that is more well received than most. Nintendo even said they chose that shape because it was ergonomic and comfortable. The 360/GCN controllers are two of the most revered.
As for Playstation All-stars, it doesn't help the game's case that the developers have a photo of their office ...
First of all, I don't think you've ever expressed confidence in anything Nintendo's ever done.
Anyway, while not every game supports it, the Wii U gamepad supports game streaming to the device. Recently it was suggested that latency between the console and controller was actually better than console to TV. Already that is greater functionality than SmartGlass since the latter can't even play games.
It's a bridge between Windows 8 and the 3...

I fail to see how the lackluster quality of the conference suddenly makes the Wii U a bad console.

Currently the 3DS is the fastest selling handheld gaming device. I'm not counting Apple products because they're not dedicated gaming devices, particularly its cell phone products.
Never thought I'd see the day where a self-respecting gamer would use an iPhone as the means to argue against a point regarding Nintendo's success. Small world.

To be perfectly honest though, I believe when consumers go to a store and see Wii U, one thing will lead to another. They'll ask friends or store employees and those people will quickly remedy the issue.
The people who matter most know its a new console. I think that's enough until it's launched. If this issue persists for even a few months after, then thin...
Patience, I guess. Believe me, I'm as disappointed about it as you are, but those games are coming. It's Nintendo. They'll deliver sooner or later.
I mean hell, the producer of the Zelda franchise has already said there is more than one Zelda game in development. It doesn't make the conference any less crappy, but it doesn't mean those Zelda games suddenly don't exist.

I don't remember Nintendo ever refusing any 3rd party publishers (aside from The Binding of Isaac). They can't control 3rd party developers; it's up to those developers to choose what platform is good for their games.
The trailer for this movie was really fun. I recommend any gamer who's ever played a retro game go check it out.
It breaks a lot of stereotypes. For the first time, I'm very excited for a non-Pixar Disney animated CGI movie, and it looks like a really good video game film. Very much looking forward to this one.
Time is irrelevant. Sony is still copying Nintendo's original idea to a tee and doing very little with it that seems unique.
SmartGlass is a tablet controller for the 360. How the blue balls is it not taking any conceptual design from Wii U? Are you for real?
