A silly named that earned them billions.

That remains to be seen unfortunately. I'll wait before I pass judgement. I do believe it's more than just another Wii Sports, but by how much is the big question.

@guitarded77

I stand corrected lol.

I guess the easy answer is it could. I don't think it will, but just like any console before it, it has that one chance of failure. Given Nintendo's track record I don't think it will though.

Technically that's for the handhelds. I don't think Nintendo has ever updated their consoles before (unless you count the cheaper Wii with no GCN support).

This is partially why I'm done with Microsoft unless they seriously shape up next generation. I myself have gone through three Xboxs and my friends have all gone through at least as many.

I'm also tired of paying $60 a year for cross-chat. That's really the only perk when compared to the PS3. Even the Wii allows me to use Netflix and Hulu for free.

As far as the 360 goes, I'm done. Hopefully the next console will be better.

Considering all of the disagrees I received, I reckon most people didn't bother to read past the header. Typical on this website, but whatever.

Read past the headline. The people who ask if it's an add-on are a minority.

That's what I've been trying to say lol. I don't think the gap will be as big as everyone thinks, but I've never pretended to be 100% certain. Fanboys are too sure it will be that big though.

@MasterD919

Ahh, Clint Mansell. That explains a lot. I love the rock theme he wrote for the rather atrocious Doom movie. I looked into his work after that and I've loved most, if not all of it.

But yes, I agree with you on ME3's somber soundtrack. The trilogy was incredible over all in my opinion, even if the conclusion was not what I really hoped for or expected.

That's a fine and dandy theory. But that's really all it is in the end. A theory.

The fact is we can't know anything about the gap between the Wii U and its real competition until those consoles come out. Nintendo does not know their specs and they don't know the Wii U's either. Neither do you.

Now a handful of well-known developers have suggested that the Wii U has very modern hardware. We already know it has a CPU that eclipses what was ...

I get what you're saying, but what exactly does that have to do with this article in particular?

[SPOILERS!!!]

A Bioware writer hinted that in the "destroy" ending, Shepard is meant to survive. I get the feeling that in the next big Mass Effect game, if you play as a new character and you chose "destroy," Shepard, specifically YOUR Shepard, will reappear in the new game.

Certainly a crowd pleaser for anyone who wants a 3D platformer that's more 'HD-like' and less cutesy than Mario and Rayman.

@corrus

Assassin's Creed III, Batman Arkham City, Ninja Gaiden III, Rayman Legends, ZombiU, Mass Effect 3, Darksiders II, Tank! Tank! Tank!, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Trine 2: Director's Cut and Aliens Colonial Marines were all shown in the conference at one point, whether in the 3rd party game montage or as a separate part of the show. P-100 was also on the show floor.

No third party games my ass. And the bulk of these are rated M. If you're going...

Funny thing is ME1 had the same composer and ME3 had a new one. I personally thought they all had decent soundtracks, but that's just me.

Not entirely. During its early years, core games were far and few in between. In those days, Wii Play, Fit and Music were more or less in the limelight. Mostly around '09, '10 and onward the Wii's core games picked up. Sadly most of the core Wii owners had sold their consoles by then, I think.

Although I could be (and am probably) wrong; I heard Xenoblade and Skyward Sword both sold pretty well, which makes me quite glad. Both of those games were amazing in my opi...

@ Ulti Mate

How are Kid Icarus Uprising, Resident Evil Revelations, Dillon's Rolling Western, Sakura Samurai, Mighty Switch Force and an actual sequel to Kingdom Hearts 2 not unique experiences?

One of the biggest announcements for the Vita in the past couple of months was that Sly 4 and Playstation Smash Bros. are going to be on the platform. Why would I want to buy either of those on a Vita? I already own a PS3. I'd rather play them in HD on a conso...

As a Nintendo fan, I myself didn't enjoy the conference as much as I thought I would. My expectations were admittedly too high.

That said, I do think the negativity toward it was blown a bit out of proportion. Saying Nintendo had the worst show is like saying the guy at the restaurant pissed in your soup when it just doesn't have enough salt.

Strange analogies aside, Nintendo still had a great pre-E3 and 3DS conference. So I'm not sure what all of...

The end of the conference did the most damage. Going through ten minutes of Nintendo Land which, while it may be a good game, comes off as just another "Wii Sports" type game. Worse yet they did not reveal any of the bigwig titles in development.

Maybe they did not have the ability. Regardless the conference left a bad taste in the mouths of many. However I refuse to believe that a bad conference will lead to a bad console, let alone a bad launch with that many diff...
