I'll respond promptly by quoting one of the horribly written cutscenes.
"F*CK YOU!"
They don't need to return to form. They just need to be fun and not broken like every main game up to and including 5.
Funny you say; I have friends who wait until entire generations have passed before buying their respective platforms. They're in stock, their firmware is at the latest and many of the games are at much lower prices.
I personally like to support the stuff I like at launch and support the publishers/developers/etc. Voting with my wallet and all that good stuff.
Since the first post launch day update, my Wii U has not frozen once, so I'm not sure what the OP is talking about.
Ports are ports, and these were developed in less than a year on changing hardware. How would they be expected to look better?
Does it access Hulu, Netflix, Amazon on demand, your DVR and your cable box in a single hub? If so, I want that remote.
@OneAboveAll
I guess you could plug it into the wall. Or do what I do and bring down the back light brightness a bit and turn on power-saving mode.
The Wii U gamepad is not a tablet though. It's a game console controller with a touch screen in the middle.
I guess it depends on whether GOTY covers console games specifically or all games. If it covers all games, then yes, a handheld game should have just as much of a chance.
Look at this year; Telltale's Walking Dead winning the award created a huge upset because people are used to big budget AAA type games to win.
This is supposed to replace the Wii U? Really?
Where do all you trolls come from? Seriously? Are you all one guy with multiple accounts?
Obviously something different from yours, if you get my drift.
Somehow I think you actually expected nothing from them. But that's just me.
No, it is hypocritical. First people complain how the Wii U has no support, then they chastise it for having "just ports" and now people criticize it because a developer is choosing not to put their next multiplatform game on it. How is that not flip-flopping?
Franchises that could definitely use some invigoration...
-Star Fox
-F-Zero
-Metroid (something completely different from Other M at least writing wise)
-Kirby (seriously, HD sequel to Air Ride or Return to Dreamland, I'll take either)
-Earthbound (never gonna happen, but I want it)
-Dillon's Rolling Western (I think it deserves an HD sequel. That's one new IP I'm very enthusiastic about)
EDIT: A new Pok...
@stuna1
"What I don't get is people saying that now that the Wii U is now released, and games look on par or slightly better than PS3 and XBOX 360 games, that that automatically qualifies it as a next gen console! When in actuality it doesn't."
Your basing that strictly on its launch window. Almost no games on it outside of Nintendo Land were developed on the Wii U itself. Many of them are current generation ports that were made on changing ...
@ape007
"yeah but nintendo's eight gen is actually on par with the seventh gen (ps3, 360) so far"
Well, you don't really know that for sure. Also generations are not measured by power, they're measured by time.
Man, you have some seriously wacky expectations.
Actually it started November 2012. I don't know if you noticed but a new Nintendo console came out and it's their generation eight console.
I used to wonder that myself when I was younger. I'm used to it nowadays. Plus I think Legend of Zelda just rolls off the tongue a little better.
inb4 troll comments saying how they think this is better than the original.
