The platform has only been out a month long. Of course the community is small whether or not it is compared to the other platforms.
No offense here, but I think you're just splitting hairs at this point.
They put DmC on this and not Pikmin 3 or Sly 4? Really?
Having to buy a controller from your own region is a reason not to buy the console? That... doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Especially when the console in question only supports one gamepad right now.
Probably a new IP. I've had friends tell me they think Sackboy or Nathan Drake was the mascot of Sony this generation, whereas Ratchet or Jak were the ones they talked about last generation.
Seems odd that they would region lock the controller (given it cannot function without the already region locked console) but I suppose it really doesn't matter since the controller is just a controller.
Just another in a long line of weird decisions by the Big N it seems.
There are several problems though.
1) It is by virtue not as effective as the Wii U's synchronization with its controller. The PSVita may share similar firmware to the PS3, but it is simply NOT a PS3. You can only sync two different platforms together so well.
2) The need to have both platforms is a crutch in and of itself. It's a GREAT feature for Sony fans who consciously purchased both platforms, but the Vita is not exactly a mega selling product. ...
I'll never understand how stating facts will earn a person more disagrees than agrees.
The Vita is not selling well, worse than the Dreamcast at present. I'm not attacking it, I actually want a Vita, but it's a factual statement.
"It's designed the way it is for a reason and if Sony decide to build another game from the ground up using the Vita as a alternative controller, it won't be as cumbersome to set up."
Except for the part where consumers are expected to buy a second platform to use it. That right there is the largest crutch for this combination.
RE6 for me. Capcom actually managed to take a game that plays like RE4 (one of my favorites) and make it suck.
Or maybe initial shipments actually did sell out and they just kept up with the demand. Not exactly an impossible outcome, you know.
"Are you saying you'd be satisfied with current gen graphics (Halo 4) on hardware that is prolly going to be 20-50 (depending on release date and targetet audience) times more powerful than Ps360?"
"20-50 times" more powerful? On what planet are you living and what meds are you taking?
"As of the time of writing, the most expensive Wii U Deluxe set on eBay is $10,000. It has zero bids."
Considering that the Wii U is well stocked and it isn't too hard to find one, why the hell would anyone pay more than the official price tag for one?
Personally I think it should be optional, but because it's a technical thing and I feel costs should remain lower, I would not mind very much if 30FPS was still the standard.
@Ulf
Or Nintendo is just keeping their stock up with demand. Just saying it could be a possibility. Not exactly outside the realm of reality, buddy.
@Knushwood Butt
No offense, but comparing the Vita to the Wii U doesn't say much considering that the Vita doesn't seem to be selling very well in ANY region.
I thought Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS was vastly superior to both. The framerate isn't choppy and the online typically works better for me.
Racing Transformed is a good game, don't get me wrong. I just believe there are still some hurdles to jump before it's a real contender to Mario Kart.
You're waiting to buy a games console... so you can steal games?
"Wii U has also been selling quite poorly in Europe."
There are two other regions for the platform to have early success in.
Besides, if Sega puts out an exclusive Sonic title (as rumored) then sales will probably pick up somewhat in that region. Sega games are particularly popular in Europe.
I'm not spinning anything. I just think it is pretty extreme. I don't usually import anything from overseas, so it really is not an issue for me. I understand it is indeed a very needless limitation, but I hardly see it as a reason not to buy a gaming product that has games I like.
