I assume this is a power based question? Just because more powerful hardware comes out doesn't necessarily render the weakest machine obsolete or irrelevant. The PS1, PS2, DS, 3DS and Wii are all proof of this. If anything, history has shown exactly the opposite.

By my understanding the PC version is the best one (but that's honestly not surprising). It's a great racing experience for console fans from what I hear, and this is the best looking console version and has some extra content with the coop mode. It's at least worth checking out I think, and I would like to do just that.

Agreed. My game machine should be able to play games before anything else. If I want a DVD player, I can buy one for all of $40 at Wal-Mart, or even cheaper elsewhere. I would like my game console to do what I bought it for and play some great games.

No it isn't. You know for every doom/gloom article that comes out, they almost always forget to look at history. Same with the commenters.

You want to compare the Wii U to the Virtual Boy? Alright, let's do that.

The Virtual boy was a fundamentally flawed machine, the 3D didn't work as well as it should and the graphics could only be projected in black and red pixels. So its designated "gimmick" was too broken to really be enjoyed.

@TongkatAli

Uh, no it didn't.

The Wii U sold about 57,000 while the Vita sold around the mid 30,000 area. So no, the Vita did not outsell the Wii U in January. Stop spreading false information while insulting other people who are factually correct.

I'm not usually a fan of Jim Sterling and I don't agree with DNF necessarily being a "stinker", but in this instance I think he's definitely onto something as far as what's wrong with the industry right now.

That's slightly inaccurate. All they did was fill in some coding gaps and put the game out. 3D Realms did the primary design and grunt work. The game was practically finished when Gearbox released it.

The PSP and Vita are solid pieces of hardware, but in order to really break into their target audience (which I'm fairly certain is teens and young adults) they need to up the anti on exclusive games and give the platform a competitive price drop.

The 3DS' appeal is more broad. It has RPGs, platformers, strategy games and even shooters from first and third parties. But all of that came a year or so after launch.

Like with the 3DS people need to give t...

That's good. No need in putting out egregiously expensive hardware for the sake of being the strongest machine on the market (not that it really helped the PS3 in the first few years). This way Sony won't lose as much money on initial units and fans will probably be able to get the machine for a much more reasonable price.

Makes me wonder what price they're going to go for on this thing. I'm guessing the classic $400?

Okay, now THAT was immature. Seriously, you're going to criticize an entire nation of people over estimated charts? First of all, there are no new games for the Wii U, let alone any AAA titles so the Wii U has not sold strongly recently in ANY region.

Furthermore, Aliens has a ton of hype around it and it wouldn't surprise me if it ultimately sold moderately well in the US AS WELL as the UK, and not everyone frequents the internet or checks reviews.

Would certainly be a nice inclusion. As long as they take the time make good use of the hardware (as in make it run as best as it can like Criterion did for Need for Speed) then it won't be a pointless endeavor. Would definitely give Wii U owners another core game to play, I've grown rather bored of Black Ops 2 as of late.

But yeah, I've said it before; this is an Activision title and as far as releasing games goes, they are not especially bias toward any console....

Sparse is a better word, I think. It reminds me of the GCN days when content was far and few inbetween, but at least there was usually something to look forward to.

Nintendo needs to get the digital content into gear, I think. If you can't get your own physical content out and if the third party stuff is not coming anytime soon, then bust out the VC and eShop games more quickly. Give current owners something to work with, maybe a digital promotion of some sort. And a way ...

Like the Wii was a mistake? Or the 3DS was a mistake? Come on, must we go through this every single time?

Well that's good news. A friend of mine actually gave me the points to download this game not long ago. It's no Mario Kart, but it was pretty fun; much better than its predecessor.

How are Sam & Max and Skyward Sword not worth it? Sam & Max games are hilarious and Skyward Sword was an awesome Zelda game.

I'm not sure about that. Companies can pay for exclusivity. I don't really think anyone cares to pay for ports not to be made. For one thing the publisher wouldn't accept a payment to prevent potential profits and if it ever went public, the bad PR would be, well, bad.

Besides, this is being published by Activision. They don't have any console bias last time I checked. So I don't doubt that a Wii U version is at least within the realm of possibility.

Oh wow, I didn't know about the demo either. Thanks for the info! :)

Sony fans want to enjoy a 3rd party game on their respective platform. Nothing wrong with that. I just hope everyone recognizes that the Monster Hunter series needs to be supported in order to have future installments made, especially on other platforms.

If Super Luigi U is any indication, I think any further advancements they make to the New Super series on Wii U will be through DLC. Unless they do something pretty big with the next version to make it significantly different from others.

One thing I'd like is for a brand new New Super game with some fresh ideas and a remake of an older game included using the new engine. Online multiplayer too. That'd be nice.

I like the NSMB games for what they are,...

Nothing's set in stone. Just because they didn't mention it doesn't mean it will never happen. With time, I think the third party library will pick up before too long.
