If consumers indulge and buy it anyway, they will continue to perform the practice.
Vote with your wallets, people.
People are essentially making this a hardware issue when it's a development issue. Criterion's Wii U port of Need for Speed already shows that the Wii U can produce a nicer looking game.
You make a fair point about audio latency. From a gameplay perspective though I'm not sure how that necessarily makes it impossible to implement the feature though. Can't they make it so the player can only hear their own guitar and then they can process both scores at the end? That to me is at least a little better than having no online multiplayer at all.
The sooner the better, I say. The Wii U needs some exclusive software, and I know at least a few people who have been itching for this game.
@NightStalker33
Ignore him. If he is able to see a difference between the 360/PS3 version and the PC version, but not with the Wii U version, he's either a hypocrite or in denial.
Based on one review? Sheesh. People around here really like to jump the gun, don't they.
EDIT: Furthermore, you know a 7/10 is not considered "bad," right? This is Monster Hunter. This is a very niche Japanese series with a cult following in the west. Not all of the reviewers are going to appreciate it.
In fact, the only time reviewers seem to appreciate something different is when fans are pissed about it. *coughDmCcough*
After the controversy with Assassin's Creed on the PC, I'm really not understanding why anyone would think this "online only" idea was a good one. It does nothing but hurt honest consumers and actually in some cases forces them to pirate the game to make it work.
I am an advocate of supporting the industry and I generally encourage others not to steal games (yes, I see it as stealing). However if the publisher is screwing the consumer, then how much sympathy...
What about core gamers who shyed away from the Wii U? My best friend plays a ton of RPGS and missed out on Xenoblade Chronicles and Last Story because of it. At least with the Wii U you can play those games.
That and the Wii U has like twenty games on it in actuality, not including the ones coming out this month. It's just that many of them are 360/PS3 ports that were developed in under a year and in some cases shoddily optimized.
If the sequel provides enough of an upgrade over the first one (give me my friggin' online co-op damn you!) then I will buy this in an instant. I loved the first Rocksmith a hell of a lot more than I liked Rock Band's guitar pro mode.
@toymachinesh
What are you talking about? Online has always worked fine in Guitar Hero and Rock Band games (which both use realtime audio as well) and Rocksmith works basically the same way. If anything it should be easi...
Is that in reference to the first part or the second?
If it's the first then you don't really know the definition of feminism.
If it's the second, I'm not saying I think it's misogynistic, but I can see where an outside point of view may get the idea. The phrase "bros before hoes" is not exactly female-friendly.
Understand the context before clicking that disagree button please.
This would be better as a cross-buy, especially for anyone who will or has already bought the PS3 version.
He's a self-preening idiot because he doesn't want to buy something?
Really?
I think you're referring to feminazis. A true feminist wants to see equality, not special interest.
Besides, I don't think there is anyone trying to say that Kratos or the game he is in is sexist, but that the trophy in context to the scene in which you earn it comes off as misogynistic.
Which is a shame, considering they actually put effort into making this version look better. I would like to see this do well if only because the developers took the time to give Wii U owners a higher quality experience.
Alas, there is not much hype for it, so who can say how it will do. Monster Hunter and Lego City will hopefully fare better.
@TheSuperior
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with anyone who does not like the way this game is looking, but how do you speak for "true fans" of Saints Row?
@SilentNegotiator
"Nice twisting of my words. You should be a politician."
Considering your track record, you are really not in any place to be saying anything like that about anyone.
EDIT:
@TongkatAli
SN opened himself up to criticism just as I do in articles on N4G. If you can't handle a lot of people disagreeing with you, then you should not be commenting on the internet.
It&...
No, actually it isn't.
And I'm sure there will be more than a few crystal ball toting trolls saying that it's downright IMPOSSIBLE for Wii U sales to pick back up. I'm not saying they will pick up for sure, but acting like the Wii U cannot see a significant increase in sales makes you look about as credible as one Michael Pachter.
We're not soothsayers, so we cannot adequately predict what will happen in this market, particularly with how unpredictable this generation is shaping up ...
Yeah, I can see how being forcibly limited to a 20GB HDD on the 360 was any better.
It doesn't need to be about 3D. I would have figured it was about broadening the audience on a currently best selling platform.
