"was calling it bascially a 'port machine'"
Nope. I said it did not have enough games like Gravity Rush. I've even specified I think Tearaway looks awesome multiple times. I'm not spending $300+ on a handheld that will play my PS3 copy of Sly 4, though it's not a bad side feature.
"You was criticizing a product that you don't even OWN and Phil OWNS a 3DS, big difference."
Many people here don't ...
Sega canned it, Nintendo saved it, Platinum Games gets to continue developing it. Everyone BUT Sega got the hate that was so vehemently thrown around. Gee, I wonder why.
Whatever. I've got my Wii U and I'm anticipating this game's release.
@Godmars290
There were headlines that explicitly stated that Sega outright canned the project or that Nintendo saved it and Nintendo and Platinum still received a ton of hate for it. Instead of ...
Honestly, in my view dropping the Wii moniker would have been a better idea altogether. Look at all the Wii products from the previous generation. Wii is a standard household name that is also not selling a truckload anymore.
Nintendo really should have thought about starting fresh, especially considering that the Wii U's more central direction is pretty different from the Wii's initially casual direction.
You're being a hypocrite. If he said anything similar about the Vita, your tone would have been completely different.
Beside, I didn't criticize him at all. I said he does not know how to market himself. Big difference there buddy.
EDIT: I assume you have a Vita, right? I made a few comments and a blog about why I am choosing not to buy one at the present time and you, to this day, are still upset about that (for whatever reason). So evidently your kn...
What I'm getting at is he doesn't really know how to make himself seem appealing as a developer or how to make his games reach an audience. Considering the success of Mutant Mudds, VVVVV and other such retro style games on the 3DS and Steam, you'd have thought he would have been smarter with both his comments and outspoken nature in interviews.
EDIT: Two phantom disagrees already? Really guys?
This game is pretty underrated and I have a friend or two in the UK who have been itching to play it. Good to see it's reaching a broader audience.
I think it's just as much to do with a lack of awareness as well as confusion. Some people who owned Wiis don't even know this thing exists.
That was hardly a factual statement. josephayal has made some strange statements about the Wii U. I remember Iwata stating that none of the Wii U's launch games were using more than 50% of the Wii U's power, and many of those games were high end/late cycle 360/PS3 games.
So, while it won't be on par with the PS4/720, I don't think they will be in nearly as much trouble as you seem to think.
Resident Evil 4 on PS2/Wii I probably should have listed as a rerelease, yeah. I completely forgot to take the new Ada campaign and the new weapons into account. I'll edit that portion of the article right now.
However, I do still feel that Ocarina of Time 3D should be considered a remake because it featured touch controls that made the experience more intuitive and a complete visual overhaul to bring it up to date with the hardware.
No offense to him, but he really does not know how to market himself or his games.
Of course aspects like that can improve. But when talking about graphics, I'm mostly referring to visual representation. We can make things look as realistic and lifelike all we want, but why not take all of that further? That's why I think graphics are only limited by imagination.
The sales were never as low in the US as they were in the UK. Besides, a price drop in the UK was not even effective to boosting sales. There was an article about this only a few days ago.
Unfortunately it definitely seems that way. Nintendo does need to get better marketing out there. The current campaign has been nothing short of idle and ineffective. My guess is they really expected the Wii brand name to sell the console, which even I'll say is pretty foolish on their part. However I don't think it's an issue that can't be rectified.
Graphics will probably never stop improving. They continue to make all sorts of new concepts and engines for existing CGI animation software. So I imagine video games will keep developing for years and of course decades.
The point when graphics stop improving is when imagination or creativity is no longer a factor.
The video wasn't disputing that. It was talking about how people will accuse Nintendo of milking and not anyone else.
Why would you cite a list that includes Mario & Sonic at the Olympics and the CD-i Hotel Mario game? This also includes rereleases like Mario All-Stars on the Wii.
Gotta turn somewhere when the journalists are not really doing their job, I suppose.
Ooh, I like the concept of developer commentary. I like learning about how games are made. This build is shaping up really nicely.
Three games released just this month, actually.
I choose to support developers I really like. I always get Double Fine games new, for example. The bigwigs like Activision probably don't need a new sale from me.
