Thing is the Vita has been selling even lower numbers for a while, but now it's seen a spike in Japan and it is considered fine. At some point, probably after more games and a price drop hit the Wii U, sales will probably pick up more significantly.
It's not really a port so much as it is a rerelease though. This comes with all of the DLC, some new content, some upgrades and some tweaked graphics and features, similarly to Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge.
At first I was cynical about this, but now I've warmed up to it. I've yet to check this game out, and if the Wii U version is supposed to be the definitive one, I may just check it out.
Didn't expect this coming from you. Can you go into detail about it? Perhaps you could write a user review?
And I agree as well. To suggest the new Lara is "weak" is utter bullshit. She is human is what she is and as one she has to go through a lot and mature. The original demo showed her getting impaled through the side after a nasty fall and someone I knew kept complaining that Lara was "crying" throughout the demo.
My response: Listen here, asshole. I'd like to see you get stabbed through the side and act like it's nothing. Lara is reacting as any nor...
My guess is either they did not figure many people would buy both in quick succession or they just cut corners to release it faster.
Maybe not in every case. Some games are developed with two separate teams creating each mode. Though in other cases (usually ones with smaller budgets involved) it can negatively be impacted one way or the other.
Not every game needs to be Halo or CoD and some are outright better off without some tacked on online multiplayer mode. Now on the flip side, take Nintendo's games which now often do have good quality multiplayer... but often no online functionality. There's ...
It probably would not last very long since it would alienate a lot of male gamers. But I think that's an extreme point to make anyway.
Games are not inherently misogynistic or have any sexist themes within them (usually) so I don't think it's a massive issue. It's more about perception (remember Cooper Lawrence and her shitty assessment on the Mass Effect sex scene?). However I would appreciate strong female leads who are not sex objects as well. The new Tomb ...
I got Little Inferno for 50% off just last week and I still plan to download Tekken Tag 2. The library needs some expansion and a little more organization, but otherwise it's a nicely made shop. Much better than the Wii Shop Channel.
Only one problem. No gifting. That's one feature I wish they would have kept from the previous shop. I guess I should have expected it when the 3DS did not have that either.
Better be at E3, dang it.
@Theyellow30
Let's not get our hopes up until we get there. I would really appreciate them busting out a LOT of games, some casual (Wii Fit U would be okay) but mostly AAA stuff. Thing is there is no way to tell for sure how it will go.
@Neversoft
Was that in response to me? Don't get me wrong, I love the Burnout games. Revenge is one of my favorite racing games of all time. Knowing Criterion made this and that they gave it the extra effort makes me rather enthusiastic.
It's fair to compare it to the other versions, especially if it is a late port of a game from another platform. Darksiders II suffers from some performance issues on Wii U that are not present on the PS3/360 versions, so that's a fair comparison to make.
Ha! Not that it makes me want the game (I already have the 3DS version), but I can see some hilarity coming from this.
"Activision can't do a good game..."
I call bull.
Activision published Battlezone, Transformers War for/Fall of Cybertron and Blur and I love those games, just to name a few.
It was a shitty move no matter what way you spin it. It screws over Wii U owners who really wanted to play the game and it also screws over the developers whose hard work has now been shelved for over half a year.
"They can make the game better."
DLC.
"They can iron out bugs."
The game was weeks from release. If there are bugs, I doubt it was anything that could not have been patched out.
...
I've been interested in the game since it came out actually, but it was never very high on my list. I'm thinking of checking this out since it's supposedly the best version.
Sorry that that offends you for some reason?
I don't necessarily think they need to. They certainly could and I would be interested to see what direction they take. You make the same point I've made for a while; Nintendo does not need to do what the competition does because that's what Sony and Microsoft are for and I like them for doing that just as I like Nintendo for what they do.
I will never understand why people demand Nintendo change their model. If you like Sony then that's what Sony is for. You ...
Why is there always a comment like this? They probably meant definitive console version. Duh.
@herbs
Need For Speed is like Burnout, you really don't need to ease the gas or the break; you're either jamming one button or jamming the other. A game like Gran Turismo probably would not work with those kinds of triggers, for sure.
I'd like to try this game because it's one of the few ports from a developer who actually put in some genuine effort to not only make it work right, but took advantage of the hardware and made it look better.
They will probably update those versions at some point anyway. Team Ninja is porting Razor's Edge to the 360 and PS3, so.
Wow. Aren't you mature. It's funny how I'm accused of attacking the Vita despite wanting to buy one at some point. You and TongkatAli should get together and go bowling.
The sad thing about you calling me a fanboy is you're the one getting all defensive over the Vita. Seriously, that thing has been underperforming for a year (and still does in all regions but Japan), yet no one acknowledges it. Yet for whatever reason people will not only label the Wii U a fai...
